Madras Cafe, nestled in the vibrant heart of Dieppe, has become a weekly food haul for my friends and me. Residing in Sackville, we eagerly traverse the distance, drawn by the allure of their exceptional Indian cuisine. The beef biryani, a fragrant symphony of spices and tender meat, and the Kalappam, a delightful South Indian specialty, stand out as our favorites. However, it's the mutton pepper fry that truly captivates our palates with its robust flavors.
A highlight of our dining experience is their tomato chutney. It's simply the best I've tasted so far, adding a tangy and sweet accompaniment to the meals. The staff, noting our appreciation, generously provided an extra serving at no cost, exemplifying their commitment to customer satisfaction.
An unexpected yet delightful surprise was the pickled pineapple. Its unique taste, a perfect blend of sweet and sour, was a refreshing interlude in our rich feast.
Among the myriad of Indian eateries scattered around Moncton, Madras Cafe shines as a beacon of authentic flavors and warm hospitality, firmly establishing itself as my top recommendation for anyone seeking an unparalleled Indian...
Read moreWeâve tried both dine-in and take-out at Madras CafĂ©, and every experience has been consistently wonderful. For dine-in, we ordered the South Indian dosa combo, puttu with fish curry, Thalassery chicken biryani, and filter coffee. Everything tasted fresh and authentic, just like what youâd expect from a proper South Indian kitchen. Everything tasted fresh and true to South Indian flavors. The fish curry with the puttu was amazing. rich, spicy, and full of depth, though definitely on the hotter side, so something to keep in mind if you prefer mild food. The biryani was delicious, and the filter coffee was exactly how it should be, strong and smooth. For take-out, we ordered the biryani again and the chicken varatharachatu. The curry had that lovely roasted coconut taste and a nice balance of spice. Overall, Madras CafĂ© serves honest, well-made South Indian food. Itâs the kind of place you leave satisfied and already thinking about what...
Read moreToday we visited Madras Cafe in Moncton and ordered Kappa Biryani and Beef Roast with Pazhampori. The Beef Roast was extremely salty. They also added scrambled eggs to the Kappa Biryani, which is something weâve never seen in traditional Kerala Kappa Biryani. It seemed like the cook knew the biryani was also too salty and tried to cover it up by adding scrambled eggs, but it didnât work.
Whatâs disappointing is that after knowingly serving salty food, they still came and asked, âIs everything okay?â or âDo you want to change the dish?â Those questions make no sense when the problem came from the kitchen itself. The cook should ensure the food is right before sending it out.
The only good things were the tea and the Pazhampori. Also, it was unprofessional that the kitchen staff and cook were hovering around and sniffing after...
