This place was a disappointment. We were there as part of a large group; despite booking ahead of time they were not prepared for us at all.
The only thing that kept it together were the two very overwhelmed waitresses who did their best.
Now to the food. Holy crap, talk about bad. I ordered a 2 pc fish and chips, which is my go-to order at any pub\restaurant. I can usually judge how everything else will be on how they do on that. It is hard to screw up fish and chips, especially in the Maritimes.
I had seen the photos online of the really nicely battered haddock, which seemed like very nice size pieces of fish, so I was excited to try it.
What I received was two, extremely thin pieces of fish lightly dusted with a brown powder. It didn't look or taste like haddock, it tasted more like Sole, which is what I believe it was. If it was haddock, then it was off.
If a restaurant in the Maritimes can't even get a basic fish and chips right, then they should just shut down. If it was not haddock then I should have been informed of the substitution, then I could have decided if I wanted something else or not. If I had been allergic to whatever fish was substituted, I could have been made very sick or possibly have died. Yes, that is taking it to the extreme, but restaurants have gone under for things like that.
Another person in our party ordered the very expensive steak and ordered it medium-rare. It came out looking more like shoe leather it was so well done. Luckily she was not charged...
Read moreIf you’re looking for a sports bar with excellent food, great customer service, and a great atmosphere, then Sports Rock Dieppe is one of the best spots to go in town!
For several years, I have dined at this restaurant, and my experience has been consistently great. As they have stated in their banner, they claim to have the “Best Wings In Town,” and honestly, I really don’t disagree with them. Along with a large assortment of meals on the menu, you also have options for just about anything you want to try, and out of everything I have eaten, I haven’t really had a bad meal. Plus, they always have a special night for wings, burgers, steak, and more! So it’s good to check their website or call ahead if you want to know what specials they have on.
Their food has usually been pretty tasty, as long as you don’t mind waiting a little longer for them to prepare it. On average, the wait time can be anywhere between 20 minutes to an hour depending on how busy they are, but they keep you busy with a large selection of alcoholic beverages, and non-alcoholic. On busy nights, I find it can get a little noisy if it's a packed restaurant, but it is a great spot in town for the whole family to enjoy.
Overall, Sports Rock Dieppe is one of our favourite places to eat, and I would recommend it to anyone who hasn’t...

Last night, my boyfriend and I decided to go out for a date night and ended up at Coasters inside Sports Rock. From the moment we arrived, the experience was fantastic. The service was truly impeccable — even when we switched tables partway through ordering, our server found us quickly and didn’t miss a beat.
We started with appetizers, and my boyfriend ordered a burger with fries and their delicious chicken gravy — he absolutely loved it. I went with the steak special and asked for it rare. While waiting for the main course, we played the machines and let our food sit a bit to cool down once it arrived — and yet, my steak was still rare and cooked perfectly when I dug in. That level of precision is impressive.
As someone who owned and operated a restaurant for 20 years, I can tell when a place is well-run — and this one definitely is. The beef gravy was rich and flavorful, and everything from the atmosphere to the food made for a truly enjoyable evening. We’ll definitely be back, and I’d absolutely recommend Coasters to anyone looking for great food, great service, and a...
