Harvey's — Restaurant in District Municipality of Muskoka

I've been a fan of Harvey's since the 1980s, but I've had enough. Food quality has gone down hill for sure, but the worst is the level of service I have received on the last few visits.

Saturday, Bracebridge location at 4pm. Not busy, nobody in line, but plenty of staff. I counted 8 people behind the counter.

Nobody took my order for a while, So I had time to observe. Once order was taken (2 original, 2 onion rings, one grilled chicken, 1 frozen lemonade) they seemed to be cooking it, each time I saw them put 2 burgers on the griddle, they eventually went to the drive through window. Then 2 more. Someone came over to look at my order, and she confirmed it...went back to the cook, talked to him, and he THEN put 2 burgers and chicken on the grill. This after 5 minutes. In the meantime, the frozen lemon was made as soon as i ordered, and it was melting.

When the food came out I had to ask for a tray.

Food Burgers where not as good as usual. Buns seemed soggy. Pickle slices where uneven (one super thinly sliced, one super thick) Frozen lemonade was weak (not much lemon flavour. Perhaps due to the melted ice

The environment Seemed dirty, was certainly messy

Staff Not engaged with customers, busy talking among themselves and with pick up drivers.

This is not the only Harvey's that has let me down. I have posted other reviews.

It's very disappointing that Recipe Unlimited, the parent company that owns Harvey's, Swiss Chalet and other chains is not paying attention.

I looked over the recent reviews for the Bracebridge location, and they are consistent with my experience. Except for 3 that I read that seem like the same review under different names. 2 of them seem to have reviewed the Harvey's and the attached Swiss Chalet at the same time. Seems suspicious.

Anyway, long review, here's the summary.

I had an outstanding experience at the Harvey’s in Bracebridge, Ontario! From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by the clean and welcoming environment. The staff were incredibly friendly and eager to help, making me feel like a valued customer right away.

The food was nothing short of fantastic. I ordered a classic Harvey’s burger, and it was made to perfection. The ability to customize my burger with a wide range of fresh toppings is something I always look forward to, and this location did not disappoint. Every ingredient was fresh, and the burger was cooked just right—juicy and flavorful.

The fries were crispy and hot, a perfect complement to the burger. I also tried one of their milkshakes, which was thick, creamy, and absolutely delicious.

What really stood out was the level of service. The staff went above and beyond to ensure my order was correct and that I was satisfied with my meal. Despite being busy, they maintained a high level of efficiency and friendliness.

Order taker here was miserable with customers ahead of me and with me.

Pop machine dispensing warm pop.

Ice machine was not working at all.

When I brought this to this same person taking orders, he told me if I wanted cold pop, I would have to pay extra for a bottle from the fridge with my combo. Which he did charge me extra for.

Myself and other customers noticed the workers placing filthy resturant food trays with wrapped burgers under the heat lamps with the trays touching the unwrapped burgers under the heat lamps. This is disgusting!

The resturant itself appeared dirty with french fries on the floor in front of the food station as well as the resturant floor.

Our table was sticky to the point that our napkins were sticking to the table.

In my experience, Harveys resturants are usually pretty clean and pleasurable to visit. This location was the opposite.

I am very disappointed with this location.
