I would have given the restraunt an easy 4 stars or may be about 4.5. But the treatment was something uncalled for. Here is as detailed a review I can put. I will start with the positives: The laccha paratha is undoubtedly best in town. Highly recommend it for anyone who orders food from here. The food quality was very good. The quantity of food for most of the things we ordered was a good portion and value for money. The interiors and the vibe of the place is very good. NEGATIVES: The treatment towards us. We were not aware that the restraunt had a strict reservation policy for the guests, so when we were informed on our arrival (with most of the tables empty) we apologized and thanked the person who attended us (probably the manager) for making an exception. However the exception was followed by a sarcastic remark of we should be checking their websites for reservations before entering. We ignored it and went ahead with orders. I usually have a habit of getting my orders rechecked and repeated by the person taking orders basically to avoid hassles of getting a wrong order or extra quantity to avoid wasting food. On requesting the same i was literally asked to read out the order from the notepad of the person who took our order (this was the same guy as earlier who did the sarcastic comment). Post our dinner I checked their website and Google search and no where it indicates the need for reservations, I went to pay my bill and indicated the same to the person in charge there. The guy went way aggressive indicating everything is on the web and when he went online initially he was himself unable to find the reservations requirement page. Post digging he indicated that we need to go in the about section of the restraunt in the Google search results to see that info. Note the website does not has any mentions of reservations requirements. I just told the guy that I really appreciate the need of reserving a table that they are doing specifically in times like these, but they should look in it as the info should be on main page of Google search atleast so that this does not happens with other guests. Post this I was dealt very rudely to the point where I felt intimidated. All this followed by the guy indicating that I was being racist by saying that I will not ask any other restraunt asking for reservations for entry and I should go and check with the restraunt next door if they allow me to even enter without reservations. I was taken aback with such statements and thought it will be better to leave the place to avoid any further issues for a place which does not even wants a feedback. I felt the treatment to be super rude. Probably worse than one of the other popular Indian joints on st. Jean and hymus blvd well known for their poor treatment to their guests from subcontinent. I am pretty sure that I will recommend masala art for their food, but might not order anything for myself from them in future to avoid such poor treatment. Suggestions: just include in your Google search page that you are having dine-ins with reservations so people know; or have a sign on your window or door indicating reservations only. And if possible may be treat your guests with a slight more respect that they deserve. Ps: to the guy who was so rude. I did check with Panama (next door restraunt) and they indicated they were taking in reservations as well, but said since they had a couple of tables open they can make an exception and all this conversation in a very polite and affable way. I thanked them for making an exception and apologized for no reservations and indicated them I will take a rain check.

Hands down, the best Indian restaurant in Montreal!! Food quality and food presentation was top notch. Best Momos I have ever had in my life, loved every bite of it. We also order the Tandoori Paneer Tikka and Soya Chaap, it was super yummy. Properly marinated and soft with enough spices. I got a feeling of a fine dine restaurant. In the main course, we ordered Veg Biryani (best I have ever had), Dal Makhni (yummiest), Kofta and Mushroom Jalfarezi (best main course curry) with Lachha Parantha (fresh) and Tandoori Roti. Everyone loved the food as it was rich in flavour and tasty. I highly recommend visiting this restaurant if you’re in Montreal area. I would definitely visit again whenever I’ll visit Montreal. Owners are very nice and friendly people. The owner is also the main chef of the restaurant. Customer service was 5 stars as well. The restaurant was clean and hygienic. I saw pictures of the owner in the restaurant and he was a chef in Taj Palace, New Delhi and at some Indian restaurant in Russia. We all were truly impressed by the quality and presentation of food. Thank you for the great food and letting us sit and order food during your break. We especially came from Toronto to visit our friends in Montreal and visiting your restaurant was the key moment of our trip.

I’m giving these two starts because of the taste of the food and packaging. I was about to give the good review but from my yesterday’s experience at this place, I was decided to give 2 starts🙁bad experience ever because of the food we went again (it was our 3rd visit). I would like to share my recent experience, I ordered food 60min prior because of the evening rush hours after that we called still our order was not prepared and the worker said it will take more 15-20min then we drove their(after 15min) with our newborn and we waited like good 25-30min again😓This is not 1st time that we waited like 2hrs just to pickup one dish☹️We experienced this 3rd time, In my first visit they serve food after 55-60min. So that means even you dine-in or placed order over the phone it’s a same wait time. After yesterday’s experience I will not recommend this place, If you have ample of free time then guys go and enjoy the authentic food but if you are with small kids, babies or old ppl avoid to go at this place. 🙏🏻respect other ppl time!

Run don’t walk to eat here. I have eaten at many different Indian restaurants, this is hands down the BEST! Don’t look at the negative reviews, these are people that complain to complain. The Meal: Samosa’s- Best I’ve ever had (Large,Hot) Dahl Soup- Flavour to die for, Coriander super fresh. We had one order of plain Naan and one order of garlic. (The only reason I took the plain, is that I didn’t want to sully the flavour of the meal if I put something on it) The Naan is fantastic and the Garlic Naan is so incredible. Chicken-65 - Amazing Lamb Vindaloo - Super Spiced, without being stupid hot Basmati Rice - Perfect Mango Lassi - Super Creamy and Flavourful Gulab Jamon - Incredible All in all this is the most authentic and nice place to eat. The owner and his wife are also super friendly and will make sure you’re happy. Usually you get small servings and leave somewhat hungry, not HERE! I’m a big guy ate well and still had to take a doggie bag home. One of the key things I notice at a restaurant with good food, is if you see many people of the ethnicity of the food in the restaurant, then nine times out of ten, the food is authentic and good. Yes, some things weren’t available, they have been taken off the menu, I went to eat at 8:30ish and got exactly what I wanted. This will be my number go to for Indian food from now on. For all that, tax in $73.00, well worth it! Go, Go, Go! Before it gets wicked popular and...
