[adding more comments] based on the response from management and upon further review of the menu, we ordered two kids meals at $13 each (linguini rose sauce and fish and chips) and we receive NO drinks nor dessert for both and the waitress never asked and even when we asked for the bill, she did not say anything….and yes we only tipped 10% based on the service provided but now we regretted giving that 10%…we paid $123.11 for ripped off food and bad service…wow…

Food was very average and pricey for the portion you get. Not OK for people with young children / infants.

Service was not acceptable. A manger came up to us and said some customers complained about the noise that my infant is making. My 15 month old was throwing a tantrum after coming back for a walk and did not want to be placed on the high chair, we brought her out before the manager made the complaint to us. First of all, this is a pub, don’t act like this is some sort of fine dining restaurant. People around us were talking and laughing out LOUD and that’s ok and you can’t tolerate an infant’s cry? What did you expect us to do when you complain to us? You want us to punish the infant that cannot yet control her voice and feelings? You want to leave right away leaving our food and yet pay an inflated price just because we are eating at the airport?

I came back from Portugal and we have dined out on all days (13 days) and did not receive any complaints (even when my infant does scream sometimes at the restaurant when she wanted something badly), and we did not even need to tip there! I am not saying that my infant is “doing the right thing” but come on, what do you expect an infant to do? Man, this restaurant has terrible service...

Had a wonderful trip to Montreal that ended negatively at this restaurant. Due to the server taking a long time to get back to us for our order and also due to her not checking in after we began eating our food, I decided that I would tip only 12%. This was still generous considering the food quality and service was below mediocre. We paid with cash and she pointed to the suggested tipping on the bill of 15-18% and I said that I would be paying a different amount to the suggested. She then flipped out completely, accused me of taking away her pay and told me how now she won’t be able to buy groceries this month (because of the $2 difference in tip). she came back twice, louder and more insulting each time, accusing me of starving her and telling me that I am a rude person (for wanting to tip only 12% for the limited service that I received). Other customers were staring at us, making us uncomfortable and so in the end she didn’t receive a tip at all due to her own ingratitude, unprofessionalism and greed. Maybe she has something against minorities as well which would explain why she didn’t check back with us during our dining experience the way she did with others around us. I most definitely do not recommend this restaurant at all unless you are okay being forced to tip 15-18% on food and service that disappoint you (and if you enjoy eating clumped up nachos that are stuck to the paper it is served on). They should just include the tip within the final amount if there is no option to tip at your own discretion without getting screamed at by rude and...

After 15 hours of international flight, we decided to stop by and have a bite at Archibald's. The waitress did show up after 10 min. and took our order. My daughter just wanted to eat some fruit while my wife and I, ordered a main course with two beers. Since there was no fruit in the menu, my daughter went outside to buy some and came back at the table. After a few minutes, the waitress came at the table and in a very arrogant way she said to my daughter that she was not allowed to eat food that wasn't bought in the restaurant. We explained to the waitress that my daughter just needed some fruit and that we had ordered our meal and drinks already, but she said that it did not matter. We were left with no choice and decided to leave the restaurant. We were incredulous at what we heard and went to another place where we could eat our meals and my daughter could eat her fruit, even if it was purchased else where. Our experience at Archibald's has been very disappointing and we will never go to any of their restaurants again. People should come first, even more when you are at an international airport. Special attention should be given to travelers because most of the time they are tired and all they need is a good place to relax, good food and polite personnel. Obviously, Archibald's lacks the main prerequisites to be considered by us a...

My wife and I had a long wait for our plane so we opted to settle in here. It was right across from the gate. We had to wait in a line, even though the restaurant was almost empty. I think it was a changeover from breakfast to lunch. We waited over 15 minutes. I'm sure they could have handled that differently. When finally seated, we didn't quite know what we wanted to order for drinks. The server came back over 10 minutes later. The beer I wanted was not in stock (Tite Cream). We shared a burger and fries. It was okay, but nothing memorable. While we were waiting/eating, I noticed the wait staff all hanging out in the back of the restaurant, doing nothing. I have no problem with that but it was in the middle of the restaurant! They finally dispersed but I did find it unappealing. I may go here again if I'm ever at that gate area, but I wouldn't get my hopes up.

Archibald's offers a perfect pit stop—quick service that fits your flight schedule, paired with a laid-back vibe to ease travel stress. We stopped in this place to grab a bite to eat. They made sure we had at least 40 minutes to dine before seating us for service. Jessica was our waitress, knowledgeable about the robust menu, and attentive. The food arrived in about 10 minutes. If you are looking to just try poutine, it was decent and comforting, but not anything to rant about. Beefy, bacon-filled burgers seem to be the fail-safe option. I enjoyed the juicy brew, which is passion fruit and other light flavors that paired well with the poutine. Archibald's is a great choice for a quick and satisfying meal before your flight—definitely worth a stop.
