We were sat by the hostess, apparently in a section where the server had just gone on break. We waited 10 minutes, and not a single server came to our table. We finally went to the hostess to ask what was going on. She took our order, and then we waited another 5 minutes for just water to be brought over. No one seemed to care at all that we were at the table. It was not that busy, and there was no excuse for 1) lack of communication or understanding of who was on break, and 2) not a single server bothering to notice us and come over. Do NOT recommend. Very poor service.
Update: after finally being brought food by a disinterested server from another section, we finished after having had no one ask how our food was or refill water. Plates were never cleared and we had to ask yet another server for a check. Everyone seemed to have an excuses as to why we were literally never given service. Absolutely baffling.
Update 2: we asked to speak with the manager. The first thing he said when he came over was to silence us, and then to throw out a list of excuses that didn't at all explain why every single server ignored us. He barely bothered to ask us what had happened, and only wanted to blame the fact that there was a new system or menu, and that the servers were so focused on that, and that's why we were ignored. He did at least comp our sandwiches, which was the least they could do after that...

Walking through the Montreal Airport, there really weren't many options to choose from. The Houston Ave Bar & Grill externally looks like it would be an awesome place to have dinner and a beer before a flight. Our experience told us otherwise.
As we walked in, there was nobody to greet us so we assumed it was seat yourself as many airport restaurants are. When my wife and I grabbed a table in the bar, we were then told we were not allowed to sit there, and had to go wait to be seated. The lady then walked us back up to the front and told us to choose whichever table we wanted (a little confusing). She did not give us any menu's. It was about 5 minutes later that our waitress finally arrived and asked if we had gotten menus, which clearly we hadn't. She was quite slow with the initial greeting, VERY slow to bring our bill, and the food was very mediocre to say the least. Then what did we do wrong? Then we waited 15 minutes, and I asked her when can we order; she said: patient! if you don't have time to wait, then all food needs 30 minutes to prepare. Are you okay with that? I said I wanted something quick and had been waiting for 15 minutes without service. Then the other waiter said: oh by the way if you want to order take-out, we have run out of steak, hamburger, and sandwich, so what do you want? Yes, that left basically nothing, "also, we won't allow priority pass members to do take-out, dine-in-only." they added. That's how we were treated, as a minority mom with 2 little kids and luggage dragging around, I have never been treated like this and I wish they could learn their lessons on how to treat others the way they would like to be treated, not like the trashy way they were trained...
