We've tried this breakfast place a few times now and the owners/staff have always been friendly. Today we went there and was served for the first time by a male server. He did not help pour our coffee like other servers would, he just dumped the coffee kettle and mug on the table and left. He never for once came to our table to ask if the food was good and if we needed anything as servers should, and others have done. We saw him walk to other tables occupied by Caucasians, poured their coffee, went back and forth to check how they were doing with their food. As Black people, we know when someone is being racist due to their discriminatory behaviors. You behave this way and expect to get any tips? We are always happy to tip well, but you get tips based on the service you provide.
We rated it 3 stars because of previous pleasant experiences, it would have been 5 stars if it wasn't for this white male server today. If we were to specifically rate him, it would be zero . To management, if this isn't already part of your staff training technique, then it's time to include Anti-Racist/Anti-oppressive practice in your training practices because your restaurant did not state that you serve only Caucasians.
That being said, for now, we will continue to enjoy the good breakfast here and would update my rating based on future experiences. And no, it wasn't a busy morning, there empty tables across...
Read moreThis was my 3rd visit. My 1st and 2nd experiences with this restaurant were less than favorable. I decided to give it one last chance. Here's what I experienced. The waitress would not communicate with us in English, which we just said ok and accepted no problem. She came and took our orders and we asked for coffee first. Coffee in our cups was almost cold by the time she brought the cream we requested. Food came and we attempted to eat. We each managed to eat a bit of egg and a couple pieces of toast. The eggs were not even cooked nicely but we were hungry and had waited to eat. The bacon was not edible, the sausages had exactly one bite taken because they tasted "weird" and not even the potatoes weren't edible. 10 gallons of seasoning salt doesn't make for a good breakfast sorry. We left the burnt toast along with 90% of our meals. The waitress didn't check on us and came to take our plates that were still full almost. She didn't even question us if the food was no good or if there was a reason we didn't eat but gladly brought us the bill in full. We paid and it will be the last dollar of our money they receive. Again, we did give them 3 chances so I think we gave them more then...
Read moreWe had reservations for 12 on Mother's Day 2022. We walked in to the restaurant & were greeted by Theo the owners cute daughter who was helping out on this very busy day. Theo came and said it would be 15 minutes and brought my 94 mother a chair. He kept us informed till the last 30 seconds. We sat down at a great table. This restaurant is very spacious/roomy and tables are at a distance. Our service was excellent by waitress Megan who catered to our every need. Our food was delicious, tasty & portion size generous. All 11 of us enjoyed to the max. Baby (12th person)was provided a high chair and observed the action all around him. This restaurant, staff, food and service are superbe. A 4.2 is not a fair rating honestly it should be a 4.5! Thank you to all & we will look forward to...
