First time here since new ownership and very disappointed. We had eggs bennie which was tasteless. The potatoes were not cooked through and the hollandaise sauce tasted bland. Not sure if they make it from scratch like the previous owner did but it was not great. Tasted like packaged sauce. The waitress was friendly but not attentive. We had to ask for a 2nd coffee when our meal came (not offered a refill)and did not get it until we were finished. Waitress said they had to put another pot on. They should have had a 2nd pot on...it was not busy...1 other couple inside and one outside on patio. The quality of the food was not there or the service. Nothing like when the previous owner Andy ran it. Probably will not be back.

If you're like me, and you're not, you probably love a good reuben sandwich. The problem is that nobody knows how to make one anymore. It's always on the wrong bread or missing the sauerkraut or mustard. That is until last night when I ordered a reuben from Maple Ave. It was delicious! The best I've had in ten years! Moreover, my family were all so pleased with our food that we had to try the desserts. I loved the pumpkin pie bread pudding. Amazing! Yes, the ambiance reflects all the charm of your local legion but so what! It's cottage country! Just a delightful experience all around. Can't wait to try breakfast there!

Stopped in for our first time. We ordered the meat loaf dinner special and were litterly blown away with the meal delivered by our waitress Christine. Huge portions of bacon wrapped meat loaf, mashed potatoes, gravy and fried onion, fresh whole vegetables, carrots, beets, broccoli. My friend could only finish one of the three huge portions of meat loaf on her plate. So tasty and hot!!! A meal we will remember. Will be our go to spot for meals coming into town from our Wilberforce cottage in the future. We asked Christine about their homemade tartar sauce for fish and chips. She brought us out a sampler to try!!!

I waited 45 mins for food here , My grandmother’s wings came out blacker than a the outside tables there ! The waitress tried to tell me that they were supposed to be that black and so I proceed to tell her that I was a restaurant supervisor and no that is not how the food is supposed to be served! So I sent them back. Then we waited another 25 minutes for her wings , My food was absolutely disgusting. I told her this. My burger was burnt to the crisp! and my fries, taste like fish , She said that the food and everything was on the house when she brought the second round of wings and then she came back with the bill and said that we had to pay because her boss wasn’t here So I went back when boss was there spoke with her and explain to her that I was a restaurant supervisor before I went onto maternity leave and that this is definitely not how customers should be treated in 45 minutes even in the summertime is no excuse! And there’s no excuse for the food quality and presentation to be the way it was So I proceeded to pay $90 in food that was absolutely disgusting I went and spoke to the owner and she refused a refund and stated that 45 minutes in her restaurant was reasonable for summertime. And decided to make me a burger and fries because mine was garbage and was not replaced because I did not want to wait another 25 minutes.! What should a burger that she decided to replace it with about four days later also went into the garbage. Their food is absolutely disgusting. They barely have a menu and it’s...

Andy is a fantastic and friendly chef and the food here is typically excellent, but they don't make it easy to get any. Their hours suggest they're open until 9. A co-worker and I went in just after 7 and were brusquely told they closed at 7, which seemed unusually early. A week later a friend and I made a fresh attempt at 6:30, and were again rebuffed, though at least this time the waitress was very friendly and apologetic. We were told that, although they're officially open until 7, the kitchen closes at 6:30. 6:30. For dinner. Unbelievable. This wasn't on a holiday nor a Sunday mind you, but on a Thursday night.

How in creation is a restaurant open for lunch and dinner able to make money when they shut down part way through the dinner hour? Frankly, they don't deserve to, and I write this not out of direct bitterness, but rather irked that this is just one more Haliburton County business with fantastic potential that's likely doomed to a slow failure, simply because they don't have the will nor work-ethic to serve a full client base. Few civilized, working-age people or couples want to hastily rush into town right after work if they feel like a dinner out. It's worth noting that in both these instances we went up the road to McKeck's, where the dinner crowd was so large both times that there was a long line of customers waiting to get a table, and the staff was run off their feet: Closing at 6:30 is certainly not for want of...

Maple Avenue Pub is hands-down one of the best spots in Haliburton. Right on the main street, it’s got that perfect mix of being relaxed and welcoming but still seriously delivering on food.

We had the trout—unreal. Super fresh, perfectly cooked, and packed with flavor. The vegetarian linguine surprised me in the best way—so much depth and richness, not something you usually find in a meat-free pasta dish. And the bacon crispy chicken sandwich? Absolutely nailed it. Crunchy, juicy, smoky—just a ridiculously good sandwich.

It’s also a great place if you’ve got kids. Family-friendly without feeling like a “kid restaurant,” and still fun if you’re just out with friends. What really stood out, though, is how they’re adding quality rather than cutting corners like a lot of places seem to be doing lately. You can tell everything is made with real, fresh ingredients and care.

Definitely one of those rare places that gets it all right—great food, great vibe, and not trying to cut costs at the expense of quality. Can’t...
