It feels like I am stepping out on a limb here with all the positive reviews but I was really disappointed with this place. We had been camping in the area for a week and the reviews enticed us to try this place as we love Mexican food, and hadn’t had anything but freeze dried meals for awhile.
To start, the listed hours are misleading as they were closing at 7 on a Friday and not 8pm as advertised. We ordered a burrito and a tacito wrapped in a burrito “ their specialty”. With the price of each being close to $18 you would assume that the toppings would be included, but they charge extra for sautéed veggies and extra for guacamole. The chicken and the beef were very plain in taste and the toppings were equally bland. The hot sauce is not hot and they use jarred salsa. I will give them the plus that they use Hardeez products from Mexico. Once we paid a small fortune for our meal we went to the nice looking small patio out front to eat over looking the lake, but the had one of those dancing inflatable guys right next the the patio and the fan for it was so loud it was hard to hear each other from across the table, ruining the patio experience.
Overall I felt ripped off for paying so much for such mediocre food and experience. A bit of a tourist trap here. A bottle of Corona was over...
Read moreGreat food and service! I worked in an authentic Mexican restaurant in Toronto for 9 years, my wife is Mexican, we go all over Mexico every year, and I’m a bit of a foodie having working in restaurants for 15years….and this place impressed me. Although I’m vegan and only got the vegan tacos, so I can’t speak for the rest of the menu, the tacos were fantastic! Authentic corn tortillas, proper guacamole with NO garlic or black pepper (that’s right, Mexican guac doesn’t come with raw garlic) and good toppings. Wes is the man. Great service hombre…and Claudette is a super cool owner and creator of this establishment. Great job 👏🏻 it’s obvious you’ve spent a lot of time...
Read moreFood is super fresh but very dry meat with little to no flavor. Spend over 20$ for 3 tacos and a pop had to throw out. Tried the beef and the chicken. Very very long wait time in line (approx 30 mins with about 5 people in front of me) this, even though the food is already pre-made in buffet style troughs where they assemble everything in front of you like traditional sub stores. Only allowed 3 toppings on your tacos or you are charged more... but three tacos are 17.95 plus tax... so that's pretty ridiculous in my opinion. Really glad I got the pop or I would...
