Big Daddy's Sandwich Co. — Restaurant in Edmonton

I never ever really put a review for any place as its not my thing. But I have to share this quick story, just so you know what type of service standards this establishment likes to keep. I visited this location and bought 3 calzones and 1 salad. food was done in approx 12 minutes and it was brought out to us as we ordered take out. Not really paying attention we left to get back to work as we only have 1 hours lunch breaks. When we got back to work to eat we relized that 3 calzones were in boxes but the salad was missing, not being able to return to this location because of time restrictions I decided to just call them to let them know what happnened and I wouldnt be able to return there and maybe to just donate the salad. The Employee who answered the phone immediatly knew who I was and was very very apologetic, she asked me to hang on for 1 sec while she spoke to the owner, Instead of the owner passing the buck or making any excusses she got right on the phone and apologized again and just asked me for my address. She hand delivered my lunch and even snuck in a free treat ! I cant say I have ever had service like this before. What the owner may not know is I am an operations Manager for a dealership that has over 60 employees working at any given hour... They all witnessed my food get delivered by the owner and they all witnessed the service. I have been working for this dealer for almost 13 years and have never had a single meal dropped off to me so when this meal came in with my name on it, every staff member was somehow around. UPDATE!---Long time customer here. Me and my brother strolled in for some lunch time beef dips. It used be an actual Big daddy sandwich. Yet this time it came with only 3 sliced of beef on it for 15 dollars!! Not sure what's changed maybe new management but it will be mine and my brothers last time at big daddies. I've never even been able to finish the beef dip and now I ate the whole thing and I'm still hungry. Such a shame that what made big daddy's truly unique and great has apparently been disregarded in the name of saving a dollar. More upset that my favorite sandwich place is no longer what it used to be. Just disappointed 😞

Update: I came back to buy the beef dip sandwich again to see if you guys were telling the truth about having a portion issue that one day. Turns out you're liars and you served me even less the second time!!! Solidified I will never eat here again. Good luck saving a dollar when you lose a long time customer I don't think you're achieving what you want. It was a long wait for some. They did get a large skip dishes order. I was here at noon and wanted the clam chowder but it wasn’t ready yet as it was cold. So beef barley it was and it was good. I asked for onions on my pizza sub which didn’t make it. I am a huge sandwich guy and want to come back and try again. From what I saw from the food it did look good and was ok. If I had to do a say rating it’s a 6 out of 10. But I do think they have some other great options and they were trying to keep up. So I will come back and see how it goes a 2nd time. They did have a steady stream of people walking in. So it was a good sign.

And round 2 of coming back. I had the BLT with cheese today. And it was great. Tomatoes were fresh and crisp. Tonnes of Bacon on this thing and I was not disappointed. The front staff was great and friendly and I was checked on 2x’s. I was there at 10:45 and it was very quick to get my food. $16.00 for a sandwich and a Pepsi.
