YOU HAVE TO EAT HERE!
I recently dined at The Divine, an Indian culinary gem, and the experience left me absolutely delighted. Here are some highlights from my visit:
Flavor Explosion: The flavors in every dish were nothing short of spectacular. The perfect amount of spice with bold and delicious flavours, each bite was an explosion of taste. I loved how the spice didn’t overpower the flavours of each dish.
Variety: The menu offered an impressive variety of dishes, from classic North Indian favorites like paneer tikka to their Hakka menu. There were options for vegetarians and meat lovers alike.
Hospitality: Our server, Laksh, was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. He was more than willing to help with recommendations and adjustments for dietary preferences. He took the time to explain the menu to us.
Fresh Ingredients: It was evident that fresh ingredients were used in each preparation, enhancing the overall quality of the dishes. All the dishes were made from scratch!! Which is evident in the flavours, absolutely amazing!
Portions: The portion sizes were generous, ensuring that no one leaves hungry. Also very good prices!
I highly recommend The Divine to anyone seeking an authentic and mouthwatering Indian dining experience. It's a culinary journey through India's diverse flavors that you won't want to miss.

Read moreNow, take this review with a grain of salt, as I love trying new things. I'm also of a Caucasian background, so perhaps I have too little to compare it too, but that said, I have nothing bad to say about my experience at Divine. We started with meeting friends for dinner here, and tried a delightful creamy-mango drink that tastes well rounded and light, while being a heavier cream-like beverage. If fruit flavored candy, ice cream, and mangos had a Manage-E-Trois, the best case scenario would be the drink I tasted here.. (Name escapes me currently.)
As for the food? Absolutely delightful, and exceeding expectations. I again, didn't have much to compare too, but an open mind is the best way to experience anything, and my taste-buds assured me, there was no conflict with my initial impression.
The flavours were able to be bold, subtle, linger, or pop and fade in a combination of ways that left my mouth craving more, and my belt straining against my overpacked stomach. In terms of spiciness, it was chosen individually for each dish ordered, giving a customized experience based on the individual preferences.
We started eating at around 8pm and stayed well past 11pm. The wait staff were excellent. Attentive. Polite, and knowledgeable in their recommendations.
All in all, highly recommended. Particularly if you enjoy Indian food. Especially if you are doing so...

This unassuming little establishment on busy Jasper Avenue has never caught my eye even though I live blocks from here. I finally noticed it and stopped by alone for some Vindaloo, rice and naan. A simple order.
What impressed me most was the service. This feels like a family run operation and the folks were so kind. The "mom" was extremely helpful and went out of her way to make sure everything was just right. Her young son was running the till and he was such a professional...made me smile. "Would you like a receipt with your order sir?" And I assume it was dad back in the kitchen stirring up all the wonderful food.
The vindaloo was great. There are so many varying qualities of vindaloo at Indian restaurants that it's hard to compare. But the quality of this was quite good. The naan was soft and warm...not of the crispier variety as some restaurants will do in a kiln oven. And the saffron and basmati were also good.
The menu was very impressive. Everything is sorted by groupings of styles of cooking.
As I said, the food is nothing innovative or mind blowing. And the restaurant itself is nothing fancy. But this place has a real sincere and homey feel to it that made my experience that much more pleasant. Five stars for thaf alone...it's not always just about the...
