Donair and Poutine House — Restaurant in Edmonton

2nd time there and the food was stale! Owner has one excuse, he says if the food stays out for more than 2 hours then it will spoil. I literally took the food home and 30 mins later opened the container and the smell was horrendous. The food was spoiled…. If the food is fresh it shouldn’t spoil that fast, the food must be old and sitting in their fridge and all they do is warm it up and pack it… I’ve had so many Bangladeshi food in Jackson Heights with my Hubby and never once I came across this experience. When we call to inform the owner his defend is did you eat it right away or was it sitting out for more then 2 hours. Excuse me…. I cook and I have food sitting out all day and my food doesn’t spoil, the only time it spoils if the food is old..

I will definitely be calling and reporting this restaurant to health department, this place definitely needs to be properly...

Walked in and staff were super friendly. We ordered a mixed donair sandwich and a donair burger combo (combo was about $4.50 extra for a small fry and a can of pop). You get to pick your own topping for your meals as well. It took them about 12 minutes to make the order. Obviously there was some miscommunication because I received a mixed donair instead. I was disappointed at first but once I started eating it was quickly forgotten. It was probably one of the best donairs I have ever had, the sweet sauce was amazing. There was a healthy helping of everything. The donair burger was a bit more disappointing. It was quite large but was a bit lacking on meat and was mostly veggies but for $6 it was decent. We used to go to Donair express all the time when Sam owned it. Now that his nephew is running it food is not as good as it used to be. When nephew first opened it we ordered and the burgers were under cooked and they put on jalapeños on a child's burger. And I used to love the chicken and rice meal not anymore I asked for the honey garlic sauce that Sam created and never got this got regular donair sauce not what I asked for. 1st and last time we will go to this establishment since nephew took over the business. I wish Sam came back and told them how to make the honey and herb sauce that he used to offer. Wonder what happened to sam being the co-owner still. Food is just not...
