How I haven't dropped a review yet idk, because this spot immediately after opening became a community hub - truly a safe space for all! as a visibly trans person who feels like they stick out like a sore thumb in Alberta, there's very very few places I can say 100% are a queer safe space and this is one of them!! Not only do they have gender neutral washrooms, they clearly foster a culture of queer and trans acceptance, whether it be the wonderful staff or the LGBT themed games... btw, there is a great selection of games both for sale and to play! Great prices compared to other board game cafes in YEG. The space also just has a great ambience, my D&D group loves meeting there in their private rooms. You're allowed to bring food and drinks in, which is HUGE, and they have some drinks and snacks there if you need! This is one of the places I will always recommend, truly a business I'm proud to have in my...
Read moreWe booked a private RPG gaming session with a professional GM here for my partner's birthday. We weren't sure what to expect, and we were pretty happy with what we got! Our GM, Oakley, walked us through a very fun one-shot session of Escape from Dino Island, an RPG inspired by Jurassic Park. For our 3 hour session, split between the five people we brought, the price was pretty good: more or less what someone might spend for a meal and drink at Denny's. Of course, the cost will go up the less people you have and down if you have a more focused group that can play through a session in 1-2 hours.
We'll definitely come back for more another time. What a great way to spend...

Do you like learning new board games but would benefit from a guide to help interpret lengthy instructions? Do you love supporting local, Indigenous-owned businesses? ❤️
I had the best Saturday evening hosting friends at Pe Metawe Games! My new favourite games are Monikers (hilarious!), King of Tokyo: Monster Box (competitive strategy), Exploding Kittens (easy and entertaining so you can have a good conversation while playing), and Unnecessary Inventions (get your creative juices flowing!). Host David J Plamondon explained all the games so we could spend more time playing and less time reading rule books.
I highly recommend booking Pe Metawe for a night out with friends, corporate team-building afternoon/night, or date night. 100% a...
