This place was once a staple location on the southeast side, in a prime high traffic industrial area on 75th Street and Roper Road. It was a sports bar on one side and a restaurant on the other and connected on the center. Although in this review, I am only going to speak about the "PUB" side. It is clearly evident that the ownership has changed in the last few years. The beer taps had about 6 different brands indicated, but only 2 types were offered. The menu appeared to continue a lot of options, including typical pub food, such as nachos, wings ribs, platters, and pizza, all of which were unavailable. Other full meal options like turkey dinner, fried chicken, and steaks were also not available. Leaving simple handheld options like sandwiches, wraps, and chicken fingers. The food was ok, not exactly what was ordered, but edible. If those concerns were not enough to keep us from coming back, the service pretty much sealed the deal. Hospitality was certainly not a strong suit. With only a few small tables of 2-4 people, another group of about 8-10 people in the corner behind a wall and our group of 12-14 directly in front of the bar, getting a drink or food should not have been an issue. P.S. - They close at 8 pm on Friday evenings. Where is Jon Taffer and the Bar...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe went to this restaurant regularly and today we went for breakfast. There menu is now half the size and does not have everything in it that they normally serve. I asked the waitress I they served Western sandwiches, which she referred to as a Denver, and she said yes. We ordered JUST the sandwich and for the side choose the fruit (which consisted in a very small bowl a slice of orange, a grape, a small piece of watermelon and a small piece of melon) ...we each had a coffee and my husband had a glass of milk. The bill came to $44.16 for TWO people to have two sandwiches each sandwich cost $15.96....like really!!!???!!! If she had of warned us that it would have been $15.98 for each sandwich then that would have been on us...but to serve it KNOWING she was going to charge such an OUTRAGEOUS price for a sandwich is absolutely bad service. When we brought it to her attention she didn't really care either. We used to recommend this location to people ...that WON'T happen any longer...and we will NEVER spend another dime at this restaurant ...if I could give a lower score I would!! Too bad since times are hard to keep the doors open these days that a place would totally ROB people with over pricing!! So...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy wife, son, and I just popped in yesterday morning before our drive home to Calgary - after doing a quick Google search for 'breakfast restaurants' in the area. Really happy we did! Service was amazing and the food was really good! Portion sizes were larger than we expected, so we ended up with a couple "doggy bags" to take home (that was a nice surprise nowadays when most are offering 'less for more'). Our server Vanessa was absolutely fantastic! Super friendly and responsive! Took the time to visit and joke with us a bit, while still paying attention to the other customers. My son got an apple juice served in a Hoegaarden glass, so we were all (including Vanessa) laughing about my teenage son's 'morning beer'. The restaurant itself has a bit of a dated feel (wooden booths and a fireplace in the middle) that was very nostalgic for my wife and I - who are both children on the 80's. Not everyone may like that, but we loved it! I can't honestly thing of anything negative to say, it was a really pleasant experience start to finish, and was a nice end to a quick trip up to watch the Oilers beat the Capitals on Wednesday...
