After a hiatus of nearly two years, we recently returned to Indian Villa, not once but on two consecutive days — a testament to the lasting impression this establishment had previously left upon us.
Our first visit, a relaxed evening drop-in, was for a casual indulgence in chai and a few savoury snacks. The ambiance remained as warm and inviting as we remembered — an understated charm that perfectly complements the comfort of Indian street-style delicacies served with finesse.
The very next day, enticed by our previous evening's experience, we returned for a full-fledged lunch. The array of dishes we sampled was nothing short of delightful. Each item — from the intricately spiced curries to the delicately prepared sweets — reflected both authenticity and culinary craftsmanship. We also opted for a takeaway of select curries and desserts, all of which continued to impress in both flavor and presentation.
A special mention must be made of our host, Harjot, whose service elevated the entire experience. Her warm demeanor, attentiveness, and obliging nature created an atmosphere of genuine hospitality that is, regrettably, becoming rare in many dining establishments. Her ever-smiling presence added a personal touch that made both our visits feel special.

Read moreI have ordered from here through skip my dishes multiple times. Each time there has been consistency in portion and taste. Most restaurants in Edmonton have disappointed me, and I have not felt I got value for money. I usually try and test multiple times before writing reviews.
Anyway, my wife and I decided to test the dine-in. The store was clean. The floors were clean and free of grease. The tables were clean and colourful. One can look inside the kitchen, and it looks neat. The staff and chef were dressed neatly and cleanly and were pleasant and presentable. We ordered aloo tikki chole - which was mild(as requested). Tikki and chole were both flavourful. However, the tikki could have been more crispy. We ordered achari paneer tikka- which was decent and very presentable and flavourful. The veg thali was excellent; it had palak paneer, dal makhani and chole with rice and naan and white rasgulla. It was all delicious and flavourful. The Chole bhature we ordered was not greasy and gross. They were nice and soft. The chai was very decent too.
Overall it was a 9.5/10 experience. My personal favourite at this restaurant is dal makhani and veg fried rice. They know what mild means and don't overload their food with gram masala or red chilli powder.
My only advice would be that you guys could space out the meals. Give time to enjoy one dish instead of bringing it all back to back. Otherwise, everything else...
