COBS Bread — Restaurant in Riverbend

The riverbend Cobs location is by far the best that I've tried in Edmonton. They have the most consistently high standards in terms of bread flavor, texture, and quality of service. I always come at 7 am when the store just opens and the bread is almost always ready by that time and it's always fresh. On top of that, they remember my usual order so they start as soon as I walk in the door. While other locations claim fresh baking every morning, I am almost certain I've witnessed them cutting corners with the previous day's bread on occasion. I can tell the difference! The pastries in riverbend cobs are also very flaky and savory.

My wife and I have not tried the majority of their menu items, but they have killer scones. They are fresh with 5 - 6 great flavors to choose from. Pumpkin and other specialty choices at Christmas and Halloween. We love the scones with our morning coffee. Cobb's bread, cinnamon buns, assorted buns are also very good. It is our understanding that any left over product at day end is donated to the Edmonton Food bank. The only other business that has fresh bread like this Is Safeway and I choose supporting private smaller business...
