A Love Story Gone Wrong—The Spicy Peanut Tragedy

Ah, Noodlebox. My first love. Our romance began in 2008 in Victoria, BC, when I first laid eyes (and taste buds) on the Spicy Peanut Noodlebox. It was bold. It was flavorful. It was the stuff of dreams. Ever since, I’ve been a devoted fan, tracking down Noodlebox locations wherever I travel, like a noodle-obsessed pilgrim in search of enlightenment.

So, naturally, when I found myself in Edmonton, I did what any self-respecting Spicy Peanut aficionado would do—I ordered one. And then... nothing. No peanut punch. No spicy kick. Just a sad, flavorless bowl of crushed expectations.

But I’m no quitter. Maybe it was just an off night? Maybe the sauce gods would smile upon me the second time? So, against my better judgment (and in the name of science), I ordered it again. And yet, once more, nothing. It tasted like someone whispered the word "peanut" near my noodles but never actually invited it to the party.

I don’t know what’s going on in this Edmonton kitchen, but the iconic Spicy Peanut Noodlebox is being shamed here. It deserves better. I deserve better. And so does every other peanut-loving soul who walks through those doors.

Edmonton Noodlebox, I beg you—do right by the Spicy Peanut. I want to love you, but right now, we’re in a very unhealthy...

I ordered mild spice and they made our food so spicy that we couldn't even eat it. Then the absolute pathetic excuse for management argued with me and told me to put ketchup on it because he wouldn't remake the food or give us a refund even though it was their mistake.

If the restaurant makes a mistake they should make it right. Don't sit there and argue with your customers or tell them to put ketchup on it if it's too spicy. What an absolute shame the way you guys operate.

All you care about is taking the money in exchange for subpar mediocre overpriced food combined with the absolute worst customer service. I'll never recommend this place or step foot in this establishment ever again.

You guys are absolutely pathetic arguing over $3.00 worth of noodles. You could have just owned up to your mistake and remade the food and everything would have been fine. Now you ticked me off.

First I'm going to launch a complaint with your head office, then I'm going to make it my mission to repost my negative reviews about your business every single day until my order is either refunded or replaced. So have fun...

We went there today, since we got a coupon for noodle box. We showed the coupon and they were asking if we want to add protein to the food, and since it was just coupon and it was also our first time visiting noodle box, we thought the proteins are included just like other restaurants. So we thought they were just asking what kind of protein we want to select, not "add". So based on the coupon our total should be about 40 but we eventually spent 70 bucks. They were not even confirming that we have to pay extra for the protein when they were asking. I believe they are trying to trick the customers. I understand that new restaurants try to send coupons to customers to advertise their restaurants. But they have to be clear about the coupon price and other details about the food itself. After adding 30 bukcs for protein, it was not even worth it. Even our receipt does not tell us how much our food were. Also their food are pretty salty, noodles were overcooked too. So if you are planning to visit noodle box please be aware that they are trying to make you...

It should be called noodle scam. Warning don't order from here using uber eats or they will rip you off!!! I asked for mild and they made the food so unbelievably spicy I couldn't bare the pain on my tongue. I was literally in tears trying to eat this slop. When I call to complain the scam artists just tell you to complain to Uber because they know Uber won't do anything about it. Uber doesn't care if you enjoy your meal or if your order gets messed up. Uber will tell you the restaurant is responsible for the order accuracy and food quality so contact the restaurant directly. What an absolute joke. Now I just order a bunch of food that I can't even eat because it's too damn spicy. The restaurant won't refund me, or remake the food even though it was their mistake. Smart way to run a business you scumbags. If your goal is turn off your customers from ever returning, then you have successfully achieved your goal. I'll never return again and I'll be leaving bad reviews about your scammy business practices all over social media. Hope it was worth it for you, idiots.
