I used to love this place but this place cannot handle the traffic even though I was the only one in the store when I ordered. That's because they kept answering mobile orders and making those ahead of me even after I arrived.
The prices have gone up slightly but that's all right I don't mind that.
They got rid of their dough knots which were great, but their replacement isn't the best option out there. Who wants garlic bread the same size as your pizza with the Take Two (half pizza, half side)?
They also used to have a beautiful Caprese salad side (although it wasn't more of a bocconcini/Caprese mix) but that's also no longer available. I asked for ovalini mozzarella on my salad and the staff wasn't sure if they could (They do build your own pizzas for crying out loud with as many toppings as you want).
Don't come here in the last hour because they pack everything and it takes longer for your pizza to be made.
At checkout they don't have tap which is very annoying as my main method of payment now is using my phone. After pulling my credit card out it wouldn't accept the chip even after two tries, and prompted me to swipe the magnetic strip (which has always failed on every machine which has wanted the swipe). Good thing I had a third method of payment because I would not have been able to eat without it. Because of this payment issue of not allowing tap (that's a business decision by the owner), what started as only me in the store, created an entire lineup of over 10 customers going out the door.
In terms of drinks, they also shut down an extra drink fountain which means that there's only two unique non-pop options to drink instead of 4.
Based on this entire review, if they don't have tap the next time I'm here, I'm never coming back because it takes so long to process (did I mention the machine wasn't mounted on properly and fell off twice during my transaction attempts?) and it's so...
Read moreUpdate, Aug 2023: they no longer seem to put up any resistance to customers using tap to pay, so I've returned them to 5 stars. Welcome to the 21st century, Blaze! Their app still refuses to autofill credit card details, so you'll have to find your wallet, dig out your card, then manually type in every piece of information. They offer the choice to have Blaze store your credit card info, but I'm not a fan of retailers storing my info, since there seem to be frequent incidents exposing same (this is, of course, a solved problem, via autofill). But at least they seem to, reluctantly, be embracing some technologies that make it easier for their customers to do business with them. The pizza remains exceptional, as do the staff!
Original review: The pizza is outstanding - their model is Chipotle for pizza, and it works really well. The pizzas are made using fresh ingredients by people who care what they're doing, the price is reasonable, and the food is delicious. I eat there regularly.
But they lose a full two stars for routinely lying to customers that they don't take tap for payments. If you press them on the issue, you'll learn they in fact do take tap, and a tap enabled terminal will be produced from behind the counter, where it's otherwise kept hidden.
They presumably do this to avoid accepting liability for fraudulent charges (merchants are covered if the customer enters a valid PIN; there is no opportunity to do so with tap). But training your staff to routinely lie to your customers to save the very occasional $12 fraud charge puts your staff in a very awkward position, and greatly inconveniences your customers, and makes the entire experience worse.
I'll keep coming back, because the pizza is really that good, and so are the staff. But I sure hope training staff to lie to customers is removed...
Read moreWe were going shoe shopping and were beginning to get hungry. After discussing wanting to eat, we had to figure out where to go. The four of us could not agree so I said I have a place we can try that we should all agree on.
We arrived outside Blaze Pizza in the pouring rain and we ran inside. We were greeted with a nice warm atmosphere and the delicious aroma of pizza. This being our first time at Blaze Pizza we had to take a little extra time on the menu. Our grandson created a delicious looking pizza as he was exposed to toppings that he never contemplated before. My wife and son also got create your own pizzas whereas I opted for the barbecue chicken pizza that was on the menu as I wanted to taste one of Blaze Pizza concept pizzas.
The pizzas were delicious oh, a nice thin crust, delicious sauce, fantastic cheeses and delicious fresh toppings. Each one of our pizzas was was to our liking. The Subway style of seeing the toppings that go on your pizza while your pizza is being made right in front of you is excellent. I enjoyed the variety of toppings one can get. You got to see toppings you don't usually get at other pizza restaurants If you are ever in the mood for a delicious thin crust pizza you should try Blaze Pizza. They have a few locations and their customizable pizzas...
