Piazza Café — Restaurant in Edmonton

Was excited to try this new restaurant as I’d watched the transformation as I drove by each week from a class. We LOVED it! We got a very warm welcome greeting from the owner and felt right at home immediately. We were just going to have coffee the first time to check it out, but we had a great conversation with the owner and the menu looked so intriguing, we decided to order 2 sandwiches to share along with our delicious coffee beverages (latte and americano, both excellent). The Tibs (completely new to me!) sandwich was warm and savoury—delicious! The Capreses sandwich was bright and fresh and equally delicious! The decor is fun with cosy seating. There is a coffee ritual which takes place on the lower level (visible from the main floor) that I’m excited to learn more about on a future visit, along with working my way through all of the other tempting menu items. I started by following this place on instagram and enjoyed the content they shared. When I visited the cafe I was excited to see that the place was so well designed and a calming environment from the beautiful decor to the great music. The cafe and restaurant serves cafe staples as well as Eritrean and Ethiopian cuisine. Owner and staff are very nice, the food is delicious and the coffee is amazing. I definitely encourage anyone looking to get some work done visit this cafe. The restaurant on the 2nd level has the lounge menu with great variation of options from vegan to delicious meat dishes. This is the BEST place to eat authentic Ethiopian food. It was my first time trying it, and the flavours blew my mind immensely. The Injera was sour, soft and pleasant, and it complimented the beef ribs I ordered very nicely. The waitress was kind enough to explain to me how to eat the dish, because I honestly had no clue. The service was excellent, as I received a very warm welcome as soon as I entered and the waitress was very attentive the whole time. Will definitely be back for more of this...
