Available washer/dryer coin laundry on site ($2/Wash $2/Dry)
Cons: Free WiFi is VERY slow No complimentary breakfast available Standard rooms DONT come with a microwave! No swimming pool/jacuzzi tub Adjacent rooms are extremely noisy. Poor sound proofing. Restaurant food not very appetizing didn't feel well after eating a beef burger chicken wings were over burnt, over crispy, crunchy, dry
Conclusion: My first impression of this hotel was very positive, despite the fact it was the first hotel that I have ever been in that did not have a microwave! Laughing. I felt that the rooms were very nice and well kept comparing to many other hotels that I have stayed at. Most of the hotel staff were nice and respectful although every batch of apples has its rotten one right? Anyway.. The free Wifi thats available is also extremely slow, and at times it took 5-10 minutes to load a webpage on my Macbook Pro. Actually, to put in perspective, my mobile hotspot using my cellular network, was light speeds faster and didn't near drop as much. I would recommend that if your going to a hotel with plans to frequently use the internet, make sure you have a good data plan! There is no pool or jacuzzi at this hotel and no complimentary breakfast either. I found the beds were pretty comfortable and a lot more comfortable then the Ramada beds across the road. I actually switched because I couldn't sleep in there beds. BE AWARE, that adjacent rooms can be extremely noise intrusive and can seriously impact your comfort of stay if you cherish your silence and/or, consistent, unwanted noise disturbs you. After upgrading from a standard room to an 'executive suite', it was a promising accommodation, Unfortunately, a family moved in above me and it felt like the Jimangi board game was being played upstairs (3 toddlers, 2 parents, mother pregnant). I could hear banging caused by as little as a toddler going back and forth. I could hear consistent banging, crashing, walking, everything!! It got so frustrating I had made multiple complaints to the front desk up to even going to the room upstairs to ask them to keep it down. After multiple complaints staff refused to do anything for me. Even downgrade my room to something I could avoid the noise. It drove me absolutely CRAZY!! Thankfully they moved in towards the end of my stay so I didn't have to deal with it long. The hotel is cheaply insulated and poorly sound proofed. Hotel management tried to tell me the noise was normal to expect. I don't know about anyone else but every hotel, even cheap motel, I have been to, I have never experienced the amount of noise from other rooms than I did here. The banging and excessive noise got so bad, it actually knocked the lamp from the desk on to the floor, and it broke, thats how loud and disruptive the noise got! And staff wasn't accommodating around the issue either. I would have given this hotel a 4-star if not for the extra noise and disturbance I had to experience considering I was there for just under a month. Loyal paying customer if you ask me. But staff insisted I put up with the disturbance although it would go to 2AM in the morning sometimes. Anyway this place is okay, not the best, not the worst, I would recommend it to my friends or family, contingent on the fact they would not have to deal with the excessive noise that I had to endure towards the end of my stay here. Hopefully my review helps you in making a decision on where to stay for a comfortable and delightful...
Read moreStayed here for two weeks with my mother for her program in NAIT. She had past bad experiences and didn't want to stay alone. We Stayed in room 234 on the second level. It was dreadful throughout the time and pushed myself to stay until she was done her program. The furniture is old, the spinning chair is broken, it's still usable but you can't adjust the height. My bedding had a massive hole in the blanket and my mother's bedding had burnt cigarette holes. There's a lot of dust on the lightbulbs in the bathroom and above the lights on the wall indicating that it hasn't been dusted. There was no screen for the window and there was burnt cigarette marks on the windowsill which makes it obvious that people were smoking in there, it smelt like cigarette smoke in the hallway and that it also had a strong smell like someone used either Axe body spray or Cologne to masque the cigarette smell which gave me pounding headaches for day's, and service is manageable. We had troubles with our keycard and the door, they kept telling us for day's that we had our cellphones close to or touching our keycards when we wouldn't have them close to each other and always had them in separate pockets. Finally on the fourth last day's we were there they had maintenance replacing the batteries in the door. We barely had any sleep throughout the stay with nonstop banging from upstairs and running, we made complaints but nothing. Heard loud arguing one day from this couple and the female threw out some of the male's belongings in the hallway. One of the nights we had just fallen asleep around 10:32pm and not long after that someone knocked twice at our door and yelled, "Hello?" We were instantly scared to check because only our family knew we were there and they all live out of the city and we couldn't check anyways because the peephole is scratched out so we couldn't see who it was and then they went down a few doors towards the elevators and heard them knocking on another door as well. I ended up staying up for another few hours and then finally managed to fall asleep. Me and my mother were to tired to call in about it and we were also fed up with the night times and just went to bed because I wake up early with my mom so she has company before going to class. On the last day we were just ready to get...
