I don’t usually write a review. But this restaurant deserves one. When we came in into this restaurant, no one welcomed us. We sat down. And waited for five minutes, still no one came. After about 3 minutes one guy walked by and entered the cashier and payment system area. My husband ask him whether he works there. The answer was “No, I’m just here to help.” However, he handed out the menu to us and left. When another lady came out from their backroom to serve 2 others customers we ask her if this is how they normally treat their customers. After brief conversation, another person walked in from their backroom. Supposedly the owner. We asked similar questions about customer service and treatment. She frowned and responded with some harsh tone “about being busy with online customers.” Eventually we ordered fisherman‘s soup for myself, EdiKaikong for my husband and his friend. Before coming there my husband friend spoke fairly well of this restaurant, so we’re expecting to get something special . Unfortunately, it was disappointing. The fisherman soup was poor and the crabs was bad and I didn’t eat it . EdiKaikong soup was not fresh, It was dry. Everything was overcooked, and the taste of the food has already disappeared. We were not even ask whether we wanted water. We ate what we could manage and left. Overall, the service was poor. They really need to improve their service quality.

Black Business Edmonton had on if it's Meet, Greet, Connect, and Info Session event last summer at The Tantalizers Cuisine, our experience at this restaurant was nothing short of exceptional, making it a memorable day for all attendees. The Tantalizers Cuisine offered us diverse and rich flavors of African cuisine, with a menu that catered to a wide varieties of tastes and preferences. Our members and guests were treated to an exquisite dining experience that perfectly complemented the purpose of our gathering. The venue itself was remarkably accommodating, providing a space that was both inviting and versatile. It effortlessly supported the dynamic nature of our event, from the meet and greet activities to the informative sessions. The ambiance created an ideal setting that encouraged engagement, conversation, and connection among our members. What truly set our experience apart was the exceptional customer service provided by The Tantalizers Cuisine's staff. Their professionalism, attentiveness, and warmth ensured that every aspect of our event ran smoothly. We are grateful to The Tantalizers Cuisine for their part in making our event a resounding success. On behalf of Black Business Edmonton, thank you, The Tantalizers Cuisine, for your unparalleled hospitality and for playing such a vital role in our community's connectivity and growth.

Visited Edmonton and decided to try out a Nigerian restaurant and this was suggested. First for a good location, you can easily walk past it. On getting to the door, it was locked but people appeared to be inside, so I called to check if they were open to which someone answered and eventually unlocked the door. Ambience was okay and we were welcomed nicely. We placed our order of jollof rice and fish (3/5) & pounded yam & afang (4/5) which had a wait time of almost 10 mins. We also ordered takeout of jollof and goat meat (2.5/5) and nkwobi (0/5) Rating explained: the jollof rice tasted really nice but the color was so orange, it didn’t look like proper jollof. The takeout jollof was the same but the goat meat tasted like it was going bad and was tough to chew. The nkwobi was for my partner and he said it was the worst “worstest worst” he has ever had & he rarely complains about food!!! Overall, the lady who I think owns the place was sweet and cheerful and made sure we were comfortable.

I'd give 1 star, but the lady working the front was super nice. We came in for lunch and looked over the menu...prices were a little on the higher side (fried rice was the same as their all beef entré). I asked for spicy goat and was informed they had no goat, no chicken, only beef. So I ordered it with beef and she asked if I wanted it with or without plantain. I said I wasn't sure, but make it traditional style because I want to try real authentic cuisine. My friend ordered the fried rice, and she asked what he wanted for protein... he said chicken, but she replied... only beef, so he got beef. For the next 20 minutes while we waited for our order she specifically didn't ring us up until the food was already in the bag ready to go (I believe the owner instructed her on this practice so customers are less likely to refute the price) she then proceeds to add a $9 surcharge to change my beef (when I wanted goat) to plaintain instead and a $5 surcharge for the beef on the fried rice when we didn't specifically ask for protein...it was made to seem it was included and so was the plantain. I says where on the menu does it say $9 for plaintain?? She goes oh it doesn't say on the menu... I tried to explain to her that when I'm ordering off a menu with prices posted, I'm consenting to that price, but when she fails to inform me, I did not consent to that at all. I was sad to inform her that $60 was already more than I had in mind for a quick lunch and, unfortunately, wouldn't be able to tip. She was very kind and understanding. To the young lady working the front, "I wish you all the best in life....may prosperity, peace, and love overflow in your life...I apologize I was unable to tip you." To the owner, "Shame on you. You're working a restaurant but don't even carry the basic proteins to make your dish? You're unconsentually ripping off your customers by charging $9 to substitute meat with banana and failing to inform them! You're influencing your lovely staff with absolutely horrid business practices! That's not how you treat people, let alone your customers! I hope your business crumbles and you're stuck cleaning the toilets while others are blessed with the opportunity to follow their dream of owning a restaurant. This isn't for you. Quit...
