TLDR: Amazing service; they went above and beyond. Extremely honored to be the first customer at their new location.
So last year this Subway closed down and I was so disappointed that the only Subway to have Mac and Cheese in Edmonton, closed its doors. If you haven't had Subway's mac and cheese, you need to. Subway has no right to have mac and cheese that good. Especially for a fast food place. Anyways, I was extremely disappointed. It was open 24/7 and it was great. Had some of the best subway employees around too, they were kind, accommodating and I was able to have great conversations with them. Overall it had a great vibe.
Yesterday, I saw that a new subway appeared across the street from where the last one was. The open sign wasn't on, but the door was open and a couple people say inside, so I popped my head in asked if they were open. They were not, but apparently the guy sitting inside was the owner and he told me that they opened the next day (today). Of course, my first question for him was if they were going to sell the mac and cheese. He said yes and I told him I'd be there the next day to pick some up after work. So I go after work today, and when I get there, I immediately see that the open sign still wasn't on. Unfortunate, but he did say that they might not be open just yet. Then I see a worker inside and wave to them questioningly, (maybe they forgot to turn the sign on?). Hope returns to me. They shake their head at me trying to tell me they're closed. My disappointment returns this time. So I stand there for a second, now trying to figure out my new bus route home. Just when I'm about to give up and leave, someone opens the door. They don't ask who I am, they just say; "the mac and cheese is ready. We just need to heat it up." and they let me in.
Someone did try to come in right after me and they're like "oh no, sorry, we're closed right now. Only he can come in." As I walk in, I realize that they're not ready to open yet. There's no bread out, no sandwich toppings, nothing. But they do have the one thing I came here for. My precious Mac and Cheese.
I now feel the urge to become a regular customer.
I left a 50% tip. Even though I usually don't do that at fast food places, they absolutely deserve it. Made me feel like a king. Thanks for the amazing customer service. You didn't need to open your doors just for me, or have the mac and cheese ready for me when I got there. You could have told me to leave when I poked my head in the door the first time and I would have understood. But instead you talked with me and helped me out. Going above and beyond.
I am absolutely honored to be the first customer of your new location, and I will absolutely be...
Read moreMyself and coworker went into this Subway at about 1:15 pm today. To start I ordered a veggie sub and had to continously ask for more vegetables as the worker was putting only three of everything on my sub (three slices of green pepper, three slices of onion etc). My asking for more of each vegetable seemed to be really inconveniencing the woman making my sub. When my sub was finished I walked to the till to pay but the woman put my sub down and went back to make my coworkers. I went to the bathroom while I was waiting. Upon returning there was a man at the till (he seemed like the manager or the owner). My coworker asked if I wanted a meal and I declined. Upon leaving she told me the man had asked her if I wanted a meal and her response was "I don't know" he then asked her why she doesn't know what kind of chips I like. He then asked her to text me to hurry things up and figure out if I wanted a meal. She declined and this seemed to not be a satisfactory answer to him. This is confusing as we were the only people in the restaurant at this point in time. I will not return to this Subway, as I have never experienced such lazy, unimpressed, rude and pushy service in my life, I can understand one employee with a bad attitude but its pretty discouraging that every employee in the place felt it was necessary to treat customers like this. Lastly, upon reading the other reviews I would like to clarify that this is the subway in the complex across from the Kingsway LRT station by Dominos and Fresh and not the Kingsway...

I placed the order on skip the dishes for pickup. I went early, because my sister was hungry. The owner himself was standing in the front, I politely asked him to let me use the washroom, he denied saying its just for the customers who buy food. I told him, I have pickup order, then he said there’s someone in the washroom. While I was waiting there for 20 minutes, they were making food of walk in customers, but didn’t acknowledge the pickup orders. Then, his staff started making my order, without changing the gloves, you are not supposed to use same gloves after coming to the veggies section, that you used to touch meat.. This guy should take food and safety certificate again. I approached to him, to let his staff know to change gloves. After this many mistakes, he made my food. I went in my car, opened my sub, clearly all the things were missing, not at all followed the instructions. Went back again, the owner was not at all sorry about it. He gave me the same sub, didn’t even changed the food.He was offering a cookie which was 3 days old. Hahaha. Very very disappointed. This guy should be sued for this type of behaviour and customer service. Not going back at this place. I hope he replies on this review, he should learn some work ethics. If not, no one...
