Pür & Simple — Restaurant in Avenue District

A Disappointing Experience!

I recently visited Pure & Simple in Edmonton with high hopes, but unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. While the restaurant's ambiance seemed inviting, the quality of the food and service left much to be desired. I ordered the Eggs Benedict with bacon, sausage, and ham, expecting a hearty and flavorful dish. However, I was disappointed to find that the eggs were cooked less than my requested medium, resulting in a soft and runny egg. To my surprise, the meat components were also lacking, with barely any bacon, sausage, or ham visible on the plate. The sauce was very bland. The accompanying hash brown potatoes were dry and chewy, lacking the crispiness and flavor I would expect from a well-prepared breakfast side. To make matters worse, the service was extremely slow Iwhich is unacceptable especially considering the relatively simple order and only one other table . Overall, my experience at Pure & Simple was disappointing. The subpar food quality, lack of attention to detail, and slow service make it unlikely that I will return. I was looking forward to my 1st visit, 2 Sunday's ago after after seeing all the good reviews. Unfortunately, I did not have the same experience as most, the server was not personable and I feel the experience would have been different if it were not for him. The food looked great but was luke warm at best, again might be due to the server not bringing it out on time. After bringing our food he did not ask if we were would good or needed anything just put the plates down. He did not check on us again till he asked if we wanted seperate bills, he brought the bills and expected us to pay immediately by putting the machine down next to the bill. He stood there while we were getting our wallets out and I noticed that he gave us each other's bills, so he just moved the machine over to me, no I'm sorry. After a bit of time he asked us to leave as people were waiting to be seated, we got up to leave and there were empty tables available and no one was waiting. I guess he wanted our table in case someone came in so they could be seated in his section. I have yet to decide if the experience was all due to the server and should give another try...

I was planning on doing some shopping with the family and decided to try out Pür and Simple and I am very glad that I did.

First of all it is conveniently located at Kingsway Mall with plenty of parking. Once you walk in your are greeted with a nice bright and clean atmosphere which is very inviting.

We were lucky enough to get one of the last booths available in the restaurant and were seated fairly quickly. The staff offered samples of their freshly squeezed orange juice which we ended up ordering for everyone at the table (delicious).

The menu is quite impressive with enough options to satisfy everyone. The kids menu is impressive and easy to navigate. All requests for substitutions due to dietary requirements were no problem at all. The food came in a good amount of time.

Now the food is the important part of this review and it was absolutely amazing. Everything was fresh and made exactly as how it was ordered. The food looked better than the pictures in the menu. The taste was even better.
