I had an experience with Taren at this Subway that I’ll never forget.
Back in February, I had an onboarding, and being new to Canada, I didn’t know how things worked here. It was a family member who took me to the company so after the process, I stepped into this very Subway to wait for him.
I was really hungry but had no money on me. I went over to look at the drinks, then I asked Taren how much they cost, she told me and I just turned back to my seat. She just watched me in silence and calmly asked if I wanted anything She came over and asked if I wanted a drink, and when I said I didn’t have the money for it, she smiled and said, “That’s okay.”
A moment later, she handed me a cup of Sprite, AT NO CHARGE! What?! How? She gave it to me with such genuine kindness that I guarded that drink from spilling on my way home.😊
Fast forward to today November 1, I was in Church for a meeting and wanted something to eat while waiting for others. So I walked to the same Subway, and when I saw her, I recognized that she was the one who’d helped me months before. It got to my turn and she politely asked me to give her some time so she could make another bread.
I said okay and went back to my Church. I didn’t want to go back to get the food because -2°C is no joke 😂 but I went back specifically because I just had to tell her what her kindness meant to me.
She was happy to hear it, and she took care of my order with the same warmth as before. I was trying to figure out which toppings to get, and she went out of her way to suggest one I’d never tried, even putting it on just one side so I could test it first and not throw my food out if I didn’t like it. She suggested onion …..something alongside mayo.
Taren’s kindness and thoughtfulness really went a long way. She’s someone who sees people and cares beyond just serving a meal. Her actions speak volumes, and I’ll remember her kindness every time I pass by. Thank you, Taren, for being the kind of person who truly makes a difference.
Oh, I loved the onion cream sauce (it doesn’t taste like onion at all, just like you said), and I ate as though a dear friend made it for me.
Thank you, Taren!...

Please be careful when going to this subway. I’ve had a couple good experiences, but also have had bad. I had the manager / owner serve me once, and she refused to give the correct number of veggies even though my online order stated directly how many tomatoes and other toppings to put on it. Specifically, she gave me 4 tomatoes when the sheet directly said 12.
After this experience, I have never ordered online again, since integrity could not be met.
Additionally, they almost never have all the bread in stock. So be aware when ordering, you probably won’t get the bread you wanted.
On the more severe note, they have a tipping option… this tipping option on the app states specifically tipping the sandwich maker, but I found out from some of the staff, they do NOT get those tips. All tips through machines go directly to the management. I don’t even know if this is legal?
TLDR; management here is sketchy and should probably be under review for illegal business practices, specifically for how they treat...
Read moreEvery time I go to this particular subway I always leave with a new story of some kind. The last time being particularly horrible.
The vegetables were not looking particularly fresh, but whatever, a soggy lettuce never killed anyone so we still ordered. The woman who made our sandwiches was just putting too much of things on which normally if it was meats and veggies fine but you ask for a tiny bit of onion you get a handful you ask for a small dash of salt and pepper and I kid you not my lips were tingling and chapped from the salt on this thing. I also had mayo on my sandwich and she zigzagged it across the thing instead of a line and then because she had put so many veggies on she used her hand and pressed the whole thing flat for some reason. In any case it was not really edible with that much sauce and salt. I was hungry so I believe I ate half before just throwing it out, but man, I've never had a turkey blt that was messier than eating a donair. I think I'm going to avoid this one...
