Came here for the first time two days ago. I have been in search all over Edmonton for an almond flavored bubble tea. Over 6 different businesses and no luck...till now. The barista was able to accommodate my request with the ingredients they had. The boba is very nicely textured. Soft with some chew. It wasn't exactly what I had when I was visiting California last month but the flavor was pretty darn close.
So close that I went back yesterday with a coworker. I had the same drink and in addition to the Almond Bubble Tea with Pearls (Boba), I ordered the Maple Black Tea Latte. Brilliant. Very good.
My coworker ordered a Matcha Tea with honey (instead of condensed milk) and she was very pleased with her drink.
This would be a nice place to sit in one of their cozy couches to read or spend girl time for nice chats. I noticed board games on the shelves there so that would be an option as well. Or you can work on your laptop while you sip your drink and enjoy a panini.
Will be back regularly...
Read moreEverything at The Tea Place is delicious. I keep going back for the iced coffee, soups, and sandwiches. The real fruit pina colada is also tasty. The staff is always friendly, and remembers my drink order with modifications at this point. . I'm editing my review from 2017 as the place has sold in the last year and the quality and customer service just isn't as good anymore. They've changed the menu and the things they did keep they now make differently. The girl at the till once laughed in my face for trying to order something they used to make. They also run out of things often. I went there on a Friday before a long weekend and they were completely out of tapioca and any jellies except apple. I've been back to The Tea Place a few times since they've changed ownership, but I'm done with it now. I suggest trying Coco in Griesbach for bubble tea! So much better than the...
Read moreEdit: Since the owner's response seems to focus on their sandwiches not being cut in half; yes, the tea place used to cut their 'to go' sandwiches in half. They did not however cut their deserts in half, which is what they're doing now while continuing to charge the same price. I appreciate that your feedback didn't include how your tapioca tastes like it's already passed through one customer.
Don't go here!
Since the ownership changed this place has gone for the dogs. The deserts are half the size and the same price, the tapioca in the bubble tea tastes like it has been gently aging in a warm room for a few months, and the bubble tea is more expensive.. They don't even cut the sandwiches in half anymore, and they're much smaller. I just spent $38 here and I'm going to have to buy another lunch for...
