A nicely designed burger stop. Not crazy lots of seating but when we came on a Tuesday night there were only a couple other people there. The staff were really great and observant and saw that when more people arrived for our party they moved from behind the counter and moved tables together for us so we could all sit together. We ordered The Queen $16.99 on the black bun $2.99 (extra)and it was very juicy, definitely something you want to eat right away because it was rich in sauce and juice. The black bun was interesting. We also ordered sweet potato fries $5.99 (not cooked crispy enough for my liking, cactus cuts $6.99 (really crispy but tasty), and regular fries $4.99 (perfect crispy level and very lightly if anything tasted like non-salted, which I kind of liked more). I also got to taste The Colonel $10.99 - which I liked this crispy chicken burger quite a bit and this is what I’d come back and order). Friend also tried the butter chicken poutine $9.99 and commented that it wasn’t too spicy even though they don’t like any spice- so might even be a good kids option if your looking for one. A large spacious bathroom and parking in and around the strip mall area.

Checked this place out on a Sunday afternoon. I was actually surprised by how quiet it was as it was around lunch time and they are located on Whyte ave. Service was amazing. I am sure it helped that there wasn't anyone else there but they were very attentive, helpful and pleasant. We ordered the Queen and the Oilers and made both a combo - fries and onions and 2 soft drinks. The burgers were both fairly large (I honestly couldn't get through mine and my sides) and tasty. I had been seeing the signature black bun all over social media so I wanted to try it plus I was enticed by the truffle infused mushrooms. Overall, I liked the burger but I wasn't a fan of the bun to be honest. I felt the bun had a different texture to it and it threw me off a bit. I think I would get it again but with a plain brioche bun. The Oilers was tasty and we added some jalapenos to it for an extra kick. Should have also done this with the Queen but that is probably more of a personal preference. I noticed they also had a vegetarian burger on the menu so if you have a vegetarian burger lover in your life, this place will be just perfect for them too!

I visited Meat the Bun for the first time on June 17th. I was planning to grab something to go but once I walked in I felt like I wanted to hang out there for a bit. It was clean, lots of seating, and a fun menu menu selection with names like The Queen, Dirty Jerk, Oilers and Swish Swish just to name a few. The staff working there were lovely. They let me take my time and check out the menu and offered a couple suggestions to help me decide. I went with the suggested Swish Swish burger (a deliciously seasoned handcrafted 5oz Beef Puck, fresh Brioche Bun, Roasted garlic Aioli, Sautéed Herb Mushrooms, Swiss cheese, Fresh Lettuce, Tomatoes) and a delicious Dutch Chocolate milkshake. I sat by the window and enjoyed biting into the soft bun and juicy seasoned beef. The dutch chocolate was such a nice addition to my lunch. I would definitely recommend this place for lunch or dinner - dine in or take out. I'll definitely be back to try more burgers on the menu. Leave a review and spread the word!

Swung by this new-ish burger joint a few days ago, it's close to my home and who doesn't want a nice burger? Plus, support local and everything.

I grabbed a Queen burger and strawberry milkshake. The burger shook out to around 16$, which is pretty absurd for a single patty burger. For comparison, a single patty burger from nearby Burger Joint costs about 10$, and the most expensive burger at Woodshed is 15.50$. I am fully cognizant that inflation and supply chain issues is causing price increases across the board, but a 22$ meal for a burger and shake is still very pricey. Therefore, for such a cost, It's fair to expect a burger of high quality. However, the Queen was simply dreadful. The signature black bun was dry, stale, and crumbly, as if it was sitting on the grill long enough to char. The patty, as another google reviewer mentioned, tasted unseasoned and bland. The truffle infused mushrooms and aioli could not provide enough flavour to make up for it. The entire burger was incredibly dry and bland. The milkshake was bang average, lacking in sweetness, you can grab a better one at Peters, Fatburger, or Boardwalk.

I take absolutely no joy in complaining about small businesses like this, but this was simply not a good experience for the cost provided. Maybe I got a bad burger at a bad time, 4.6 stars out of 5 really shows that I'm swimming upstream here, but this was a profoundly mediocre experience exacerbated by a high cost. I wish this restaurant the best in the future, but I likely won't be back, and I cannot recommend it to...

I Built my own "veggie" burger thinking I would get a beyond meat Patty (As there is no option to choose a veggie patty vs beyond meat patty when you "make your own", you only get their veggie patty when customizing). I will take the blame for not calling and confirming prior to ordering, but still would have been nice to have the custom options for the beyond patty, as you are limited with add-ons when ordering the beyond patty burger online. You get more add-ons when you "make your own".

Their Veggie patty is basically deep fried mashed potatoes with basic veggies in it (Peas, carrots etc...), no flavor to me. They also forgot to add sauteed herb mushrooms as per my order. Their veggie patty is a 0 out of 10 (I tried to eat it, even though that's not what I wanted), I just had to toss it. I'll still give them 3 stars since the fries and sauces tasted good and my wife's burger seemed "ok" to her.

On a positive note, the website made it easy to order (Except for the beyond burger mix up), they also allow for special instructions which is nice. I did call prior to make sure they were open on Easter Sunday and the lady over the phone was very friendly as well as the rest of the staff when I picked up the food. I'll go back if I'm ever in the area and crave a beyond meat burger but I'm super disappointed I didn't get to...

My husband and I are always excited to try new burger places, so we were excited when this one opened. All staff were friendly and greeted us immediately. (They also cleaned and sanitized the whole time we were there which was impressive). I built my own grilled chicken burger and my husband ordered the uptown downtown burger. We also got curly fries. My grilled chicken burger was one of the best I've had. The brioche bun was SO soft, the grilled chicken breast was incredibly hot and juicy, and the herbed grilled mushrooms were so delicious. I only ever order grilled chicken burgers when we go out, so I have a lot to compare to, but this one would be one of my top picks. My husband really enjoyed his burger too. He said the patty seemed very fresh and it was cooked perfectly. His one constructive criticism would be to use a different cheese for the Mac n cheese patty to give it more punch and flavour. The curly fries were so crispy on the outside, but soft on the inside... again perfectly cooked. We would have liked a dip for the fries (other than ketchup), so we will check out their sauce offerings next time. The only other thing I'll mention is that our burgers were very messy to eat. I'm wondering if they half wrapped them, the burger wouldn't fall apart as easily, but that's nitpicking! We will definitely we...
