This is a hidden gem. If you are traveling past Sudbury or Espanola, take a moment to dine-in at this amazing restaurant serving Indian Cuisine. If you ask me, they have beaten the best of fine dine Indian Cuisine restaurants in GTA.
We happened to camp at Chutes Provincial Park with a group of 40people. With some elders in the group, who preferred nothing but Indian cuisine, we were left in lurch. But Amrit (owner @ Sukhdev Restaurants) came to our rescue. He not only served us the delicious food, he ensured it got delivered hot, right to our camp site. Hats off to him and his team for making our stay so enjoyable.
We ordered Butter Chicken, Mutton, Dal Makhani, Paneer Lababdar and Dal Tadka (of course on different nights 😀); we were left licking our fingers. 😅. Gulab jamun was ordered on the last night and we had no complaints at all on the palate, sugar level or softness of the dumplings.
I would recommend meeting Amrit, if you ever happen to dine at his restaurant. Wishing him the...
Read moreWe decided to drive to Espanola from Elliot Lake for a shopping trip and a day out with my mum. We love Indian food and had heard that this restaurant had just opened, we decided to try it. We were greeted immediately and shown to our table, the staff were all so polite and helpful, our meal was excellent and consisted of lemon tandoori chicken, chicken tikka masala, saffron rice and roti, this was way too much food for the two of us, we were kindly given a box to take the remainder home. The food was delicious, the tandoori was sizzling as it arrived at the table, the tikka masala was just the right amount of spice and deliciously creamy. We had coffee but were too full for dessert, our lovely waiter brought over a piece of fudge complimentary, what a lovely gesture, thank you it was delicious. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our meal and will be returning next time we visit Espanola. Great service and authentic, delicious food with excellent,...
Read moreI had high hopes for this place because they seemed to have a really nice set up. I've been to many of these types of restaurants down south and was so excited they offered something in Espanola. However. When we arrived at 5pm, there was a child being babysat in the restaurant who was running laps and screaming by our table. Peppa pig was being played on the one tv very loudly. To be honest it wasn't an atmosphere that was comfortable to eat in. It felt like we were in someone's livingroom. The food was pretty good but a lot of oil where it didn't have to be. We waited a significant amount of time for someone, anyone, to come check on us. We were done our meal and had to wait about 20 minutes before someone came to ask us if we needed anything else. So all in all, please don't babysit your children inside the restaurant, check on your tables, and adjust your recipes to use less oil. Definitely will try again, I'm just hoping for a...
