Took the family to Chucks in Angus after leaving the Airshow in Borden Saturday June 18th. We arrived about 6:30 and had to wait until 7 before we could be seated as they were busy. Once seated we were told we couldn't order for another 30 minutes as the kitchen was slammed, so we just had some drinks while we waited. Are server apologized for the delay, was really nice and accommodating. The 4 of us all had steaks ( 2 Porterhouse, 1 Filet Mignon, 1 New York) for dinner with upgraded sides and a shared appetizer. Everything seemed great, dropped $180+ which included $22 tip to our server. On the drive home at 8:30 my stomach began to hurt, felt like I ate too much... but no.... Its now Thursday June 23rd and I'm just starting to feel better from the food poisoning I got to take home with me. Myself, and my son both had the Porterhouse steaks and we were the ones affected.. So ya, beware of the unexpected sides you may may not have ordered with your meal... I will never roll the dice with this location again.
Well it's been 3 weeks since I contacted your email address at your request and have yet to get a response from you. I was hospitalized July 1st after an onset of GBS and was discharged to home care Friday July 15th, for the rest of my recovery, The GBS was a direct effect from the case of food poisoning, most likely from cross contamination by handling uncooked meats, then cooked food with that same glove... Obviously your response was just for appearance on social media and held no real validity on your part. My conclusions above are just reflecting the opinions from all the great doctors and nurses that diagnosed my condition, applied treatment, and were instrumental in my recovery, then and going forward. I am so thankful to all at the Victoria and University...
Read moreThe restaurant wasn't very busy the server was nice the place was clean and the food was pretty good. The one thing that bothered me about my visit was that one of my friends wanted their chicken wings coated in Hot-Honey which isn't a sauce they serve my friend asked if they could take the hot sauce and the honey garlic sauce and combine them in the tossing bowl and that he would happily pay for the extra sauce the server told use again they don't have hot-honey as a flavor we asked if they could ask the kitchen if it would be a big deal as we didn't see why it was an issue the server went to the kitchen and then the manager came to the table to inform us the kitchen would not be putting honey garlic and hot sauce on the wings that they don't do that there and when my friend said they had got it before at Chuck's roadhouse and that was all they did was charge an extra sauce and tossed them all together in the bowl. The manager had turned and started walking away from our table at this point she stopped and turned back to say well they shouldn't have I was a little blown away like wow where has the customer service gone these days nobody cares At all it's just come give me money and don't forget to tip. I understand not taking some extravagant customer request but I literally ordered my wings with hot sauce and honey garlic sauce separate on the side and I paid for an extra sauce the only step missing was tossing it in a bowl for that reason I lost a lot of respect for the restaurant and their lack of...
Read moreThis was probably one of the most disappointing experiences I have faced with an Angus restaurant in a very long time. I was born and raised here and I've seen my fair share of restaurants in our town. Now to the review...First, my parents had spoken to the waitress ahead of time to say that the last time they ordered their food it was burnt on the bottom and to ask the cook to have none of that nonsense she then said that she would let the cook know and everything was good. It started to pour rain and so she came to our table and asked if we wanted our food to go (we were the only ones there and because the inside was closed). Our meal came back and once we got home it was crazy the corn was inedible mostly black and the steak was charred so bad..like I dont understand....clearly they do not care about their reputation, or their customers...which is so unfortunate because Angus really needs a good sit down restaurant. The 2nd little miff I had was we had specifically asked the waitress if there was steak sauce in our bag or if we could get a little steak sauce to go and she said she already put it in...I dont know about you but a ton of ketchup is not steak sauce...no steak sauce. Finally the STUPID ILLEGAL TAX that they tack on hidden at the bottom of your bill...what the heck is that about?! So dumb...So I would say save your money and check out swiss challet, Angus Diner, Sweet Escape or Taj Grace of India. So dissapointed and will NOT recommend a dinner...
