Bella Pizza — Restaurant in Fort Erie

We order from Bella Pizza often enough that we know we can expect a good quality pizza. Today, the pizza was really salty for some reason. I called just to let them know because clearly this is a one off and the lady who answered was very receptive. I told her we were just wanted to let them know and didn't want any any type of replacement or anything. She put me on hold and a man picked up the line. I explained that the pizza tasted really salty and he was very defensive, stating right away that nothing has changed. I told him I understood and that maybe there was a one off with the recipe for dough or sauce or something. He was blaming the toppings (we only ordered cheese), and said there have been no other complaints. He wouldn't listen when I would try and talk and only stayed on the defensive, with not so much as an apology. He then hung up on me. Super disappointed with this...

I ordered a 12” meatball sub and was charged $17.00 with tax including a sprinkle of extra parmesan that they charged for. It was all sauce on a bun and you could barely find the meatballs. I called and the owner said you get three meatballs? I said for $17 and he said yup. I have been ordering there regularly for over 4 years …. I understand food is expensive but that’s ripping off your customer and he didn’t give a damn. I’ve stopped sending my Airbnb guests there …. the owner doesn’t understand good business and the time before I ordered a pasta for delivery with a menu price of $14.20 but I got charged over $24? I called and he said he charged me for a Minimum order plus delivery so he charged me over $18 for the $14 pasta plus delivery? We ordered pizza from Bella last night. I’ve been getting pizza here since the previous owner (former owner of the Barrel) opened the doors.

This pizza used to be the best in town! Unfortunately, they’ve fallen victim to either shrinkflation or poor staffing. The pizza was undercooked (cheese barely melted and crust chewy). While the toppings were ok, there was barely any cheese.

I had intended to post a review last night, but decided to give them the benefit of the doubt. Every business can have a bad night.

Today, I went to reheat a couple slices for lunch. There was a massive black hair baked right into the crust/cheese.

Last night I was on the fence about whether I’d order there again. This solidified it. I won’t be back.
