Downtown Diner — Restaurant in Fort Erie

Our second visit to this breakfast spot. First time a few years ago we waited well over an hour for our food and ended up leaving because it took so long. The restaurant wasn't busy at that time. Today, the restaurant was busy, so we were expecting to have to wait - no big deal. We sat, ordered our coffee and breakfast. While waiting, after ordering, several other tables were sat and their orders were taken. Well after an hour of waiting, three of those new tables were served before us. The same food we had ordered. We again left without eating. Will not be giving this establishment another chance. It's a shame because there aren't many other breakfast options...

It was pouring rain and my family and I just wanted a nice warm meal. We went to this diner and we're greeted by a hostess/server just shaking her head no and saying we're at capacity. No offer of where else to dine, takeout or waiting for a table to become free. We were simply told no service. I would like to give the server the benefit of the doubt and assume she was overwhelmed with the restaurant being at capacity, however, part of me believes that it was simply because we are a family of colour that we were offered no service and no assistance. Decent food, nice town location. Happy someoneone is open Saturday although they decided to close their doors sn hour early and turn many potential customers away. Busy and usually full around lunch on Saturday. Waited a long time for coffee refills and anything else we needed at our table. Typically really like this diner but they're hit or miss. People we were with ordered steak and eggs and said it was really good. We'll be back again because we like supporting local; just stay open the hours posted on your door or place a notice that you are closing earlier to avoid...
