Driving to Crystal Beach/Ridgeway have been our regular route throughout this year with first buying a property in the Crystal Ridge subdivision and thought would be best to familiarize ourselves with the area more before we actually become residence next year. On August 30, 2020 around 5:00 pm while strolling down the main strip and passing the brewery though we would give ourselves a treat and an opportunity to try local restaurant. We were hesitant at first with Covid and all, but decided to give it a try. We came up to the hostess area around 5:15 and waited to be directed to seating. The hostess came up and pointed a table on the patio that the table have been cleaned and available and pass us the menu. We comfortably sat down and scan the menu on our phone. Within mins. we made a decision on what we wanted to order as the choice is limited.
We sat and waited, looked around observing our surroundings. There were about 4 tables and 2 servers. About 5 mins a few more people came and was seated. We were still waiting...no server in site to acknowledge or address us. 10 mins. later (which most servers will say is not a long wait to be serve, which we understand). However, as I look around and over my shoulder, noticed the people that came after us were serve already and the hostess/server went over to have a chat with the table that have already finished their meal. We understand during this time, that things takes a bit longer and we don't expect extra treatment or service, but at least someone could approach us to start with a beverage, but we didn't even get while waiting.
Our effort of wanting to familiarize ourselves with the area and looking forward to support the local businesses have been shut down by disappointment of not getting service or any at all we were so looking forward to. We hope that the owner/manager of this establishment takes this opportunity to address the review with...
Read moreReally great small, local brewery. They have a great selection of house made beer, you can get a flight or a pint. They even sell growlers of your favourite brew! Their Sinister Minister (an american style IPA) is probably my favourite local beer. and in my top 5 all time. Its refreshing and yet flavourful, pairs nicely with anything on the menu (in my opinion). Menu is tasty and very healthy, featuring many fresh local ingredients. Menu is limited, however, and doesn't feature any fried, traditional pub foods. The prices are reasonable for the high-quality of food that you are getting. The atmosphere is excellent, with a newly built enclosed patio. In the summer you can even enjoy your beer in an adirondack chair around a toasty fire after exploring the charming little shops of downtown Ridgeway or after an afternoon of soaking in the sun in Crystal Beach. The service is really hit or miss, but they have a few really friendly...
Read moreGreat Craft Beer. We love visiting Brimstone Brewing Co several times a year. It is one of a few breweries where I actually enjoy almost everything on tap. The atmosphere is cool - old church in the heart of town. Brimstone is definitely the cornerstone of revitilatization of the town of Ridgeway. Having grown up in Crystal Beach I have seen a lot of changes in the area, but the best thing to happen is Brimstone, and all of the attention this business has brought to the area. People who never knew where Ridgeway and Crystal Beach are, are now making roadtrips to come to Brimstone, and that is cool. Try the "Last Ride" for a little local nostalgia flavour. Get a flight...brought to you on a cross. The service has always been great. Grab a growler to take home. Enjoy some light fare from the kitchen. Sit on the patio when...
