Avenue Eatery & Cafe — Restaurant in Fort McMurray

The atmosphere was very relaxed. There are games you can play ( from what I saw-no one said anything about them). The staff was nice and attentive. My food was pretty good. I got the Eggs Benny with smoked salmon. The hollandaise sauce was good, the english muffin didnt seem toasted but overall it was good. I was disappointed it was paired with deep fried wedges and ketchup. They weren't grilled or baked-diced potatoes or hash browns which would have paired nicer. They really didn't have any flavor and didnt go well with the eggs Benny. My friend got the avocado toast. The avocado was a brownish green and she couldn't eat most of it because how rotten the avocado was. The grape tomatoes were fine but The tomatoes on the side were that deep red in the middle before the tomatoe goes bad...Again paired with deep fried flavorless wedges and ketchup. She wasnt able to finish hers, because of how rotten the avocado was. The staff came and asked if she wanted it packed up to go and I spoke up and said no because the avocado looked "sketched". That she couldn't eat it. He picked the plate up and looked at it, and said " it does look sketched". She still had to pay full price for a meal she couldn't eat. We also each ordered a vanilla latte. Nothing vanilla about it but my friend didnt mine hers. I'd go back to try something else but I wish Breakfast wasnt paired with overly deep fried potatoes wedges. Its not light or fresh in anyway. It took away from the overall dish. We paid 30 something each for our meals. I know they have decent dishes because my daughter got the butter chicken last week with her Grandmother and they both loved it. So next time...

Went here for brunch on a Monday. They had chili and chicken and waffles on their "specials" board. They were out of chili. The description for chicken and waffles was "what else is there to say".. a lot.. a lot more to say, like the fact that the waffles are literally Eggos and the chicken is a thigh and drumstick combo that's maybe quickly grilled then baked. Not your typical chicken and waffles and should have definitely been mentioned when asked how they were. Waitress (blonde, wearing a Scarface t-shirt, smiled as thought she were Wednesday Adams and it hurt) didn't bother to advise my friend that they upcharge for rye bread when she asked for it. Steak and eggs...steak was overcooked. They didn't have wedges. Would have given it a 3 star, but the waitress had 0 care about our concerns, literally said "noted" and she seemed bothered when asked for a cup of coffee. $7 for a "large" chai tea that was literally a cup...money would have been better spent at Starbucks. Was not presented a bill, just a debit machine with the tip option present. Will definitely not be back nor recommend this place to anyone. Very...

I had come here 2 years ago and the food and service was great. Today, neither were good. Service: had our drink order placed and did not get any refills or ask for a refill until after half our food was finished

Food: beyond bad. Colleague ordered Steak Frites and I ordered the Chicken Caesar Wrap. After about 40 mins of waiting, a plate with well done steak comes out on some lettuce (he ordered it medium), with no utensils. We waited for a few mins - maybe the fries were coming out soon. Went to the till to ask the lady and she said the fries are coming. I suggested she take the steak back and make a new one as this is now cold however my colleague said its ok.

Meanwhile, I can see my food sitting on the warming counter for 10-15 minutes. By the time I get my meal, the lettuce is soggy, the soup is lukewarm, and the wrap itself is just bad. They also just put a few slivers of chicken in the wrap. Overall, the food was gross.

Won't be going back to this place. Nor would I recommend this to anyone with standards for food...
