This is hands down the best hotel I've been to! Queen room has 2 separate bedrooms with doors and 2 bathrooms! I most definitely have never been in a standard queen room with 2 bathrooms for $130/night anywhere either in Canada and US and I travel a lot. A private patio in one of the bedrooms. The living room space has a couch, reading desk and chair, and dining table and chairs plus 3 TVs! One TV in each room and another in the living place. I mean where do you get a standard hotel room like this anywhere? It gets better - room has a kitchenette with a stove, cupboards with pots, pans, dishes and culteries and a full size microwave. Having Save on foods grocery store just literally in front of the hotel helps with cooking quick meals in your hotel room instead of always eating out.
However if eating out is your thing, there is a subway, the KEG and tonnes of other things within walking distance. 15 mins walk to the college and a bus stop right in front to get you to downtown or elsewhere. Staff was friendly and welcoming. If visit again, I am most definitely coming back here. Fantastic place for a...
Read moreHorrible stay the first night, the room temperature was over 40°C due to the boiler blasting all weekend in the commercial unit below. I was moved out the next night to another unit, that one had a beetle infestation in the main washroom. I tried to get in touch with management, I was told he quit his job the day before. I tried to call the customer support line six times and kept getting disconnected as soon as someone answered on the other end. I cancelled my future stay.
Aside from the aforementioned resolvable issues, Marianne at the front desk was first rate. I would've moved on to the next one immediately if it wasn't for her ingrained natural cadence for hospitality and grade A professionalism. She can be extremely accommodating for you when you are weary and drained from a long day of traveling, and things aren't going your way. That can be effectively disarming and that in itself is a nice feeling.
1 out of 5 for Baymont. 12 out of 5 for...
Read moreSpent one night here and will not be staying here again. The positives: easy parking in front of hotel, friendly staff, nice sitting area by front desk, reasonable room rate, bed was comfortable. The negatives: fridge not cleaned- previous guests items still in there, site says “continental breakfast” but was in fact brown bagged to go with juice box, a wrapped apple and what looked like a packaged waffle in there which I was told could be microwaved in their “dining” area, booked a 1 Queen bed Bedroom suite which hotel description says has a desk with lamp-no desk or table in room which made it difficult for me to do my work. Front desk is on 2nd floor and the door at street level was locked needing your room key to get in or you buzz to get in. Friend in Fort Mac confirmed my thoughts that this isn’t the greatest area of town. Usually book with Marriott Bonvoy so will stick with...
