A&W Canada — Restaurant in Fort Saskatchewan

Sat at drivethrough over 10 minutes with no one in line. No one answered so I pulled away and while rounding corner heard hello , I drove up to the window , no one there, drove around and entered Main Entrance , 1 customer just ordered. Female popped out of no where telling me I was too far from drive through , that's why she answered when I drove away! Instead or taking my order she proceeded to turn her back and do other things in the store , another worker came from back to help a walk in customer , then I was next in line and instead of serving me went over to talk and giggle with the 1st worker that gave me the excuse not to answer the drive through or serve me while in line . While they were laughing and talking in another language it was clear I would not be served. I was taken back by watching the people in the back make the burgers and touch food with no gloves on. With the disrespect for any service I left the store with no food. Not sure if this was one of the owners or if theese were 2 employees just chasing customers away and driving the buisness into the ground ! Missed out on 6 burgers and drinks and our future visits ....terrible...

Very important to note, this is only about the one A&W restaurant located in Fort Saskatchewan in the north end of the town, just to the east of Highway 15. Food order was fine but service was poor. Young woman who was on the till and eventually took my order needs to be educated about working in the service industry. I stood and waited to be served while no one was in front of me in the line. She was stacking service trays at the front counter and I just assumed she was some junior employee or trainee who wasn't allowed to work the till. I was wrong. After she finished stacking trays she felt that she could take my order. I told her she should have taken my order as soon as I approached the counter, rather than continue stacking trays until she finished that process. No apology, just a frown. I probably spoiled her work day. Needless to say, I'll not be going back to this A&W...

Not too impressed with this location. I've always found A&W to be better than most fast food restaurants.

But this location, not so good.

If I wasn't so hungry and tired, I would've walked back in and asked for my money back...

The burger looked liked it was leaned on and smushed down, the fries were basically cold by the time it took me to drive across the street and to my hotel room, and the onion rings were one big block of fried onion rings. Asked for ketchup, got none.

Also, my food came out instantly as well. Which basically means it's been sitting there for god know's how long...

For $15, i'm going to flex my consumer muscle and go elsewhere. If you're a fan of A&W, avoid this place for this price. Should've gone to a sit down restaurant and gotten my...
