We ordered lunch from Dickey's for the first time recently, and we weren't overly impressed aside from the burnt ends which were delicious. The last time I was at a Dickey's was in Colorado, and there's really no comparison that can be made.
I ordered the Competition plate and found that the brisket had a way seemed to me to be an abnormally large fat cap. I understand that a lot of the flavour and tenderness comes from leaving some of the fat cap on the brisket while smoking, however, at every other authentic BBQ joint I've been to in Georgia and Texas, I've never been served brisket with this much fat on it. Given that this combination plate was $30, it was overpriced in my opinion. The brisket wasn't even that flavourful to be honest. My said her kielbasa sandwich was alright, but that's about it. The side portions are quite small as well. Nothing special whatsoever. There are much better BBQ restaurants in the Edmonton area.
The two stars are solely for the burnt ends. Too bad that this Dickey's wasn't more like the US one that I visited and...
Read moreWe ordered from Dickey’s BBQ for my wife’s birthday party, and it was an absolute hit! We went with the XL Pack, which included 2 lbs of brisket, 1 lb of pork burnt ends, 24 wings, and 18 ribs—plus we added extra dinner rolls, two orders of onion tanglers, mac n cheese, and a Caesar salad.
The food was incredibly delicious and exceeded our expectations. The brisket was tender and flavorful, the pork burnt ends were rich and smoky, and the ribs were fall-off-the-bone perfect. The wings had great seasoning, and all the sides were spot on—especially the mac n cheese and crispy onion tanglers. We had more than enough for our group of 8, with leftovers to enjoy the next day.
Everyone at the party raved about the food! Dickey’s made our celebration extra special with generous portions and quality you can taste in every bite. Big thanks to the team for making everything smooth and tasty. We’ll definitely be ordering again. Highly recommend for any...
Read moreDear [Manager/Owner],
I will never return to this location. The Caucasian employee on shift was extremely rude and unprofessional.
First, he got my order completely wrong. I clearly told him “no pork, no bacon,” yet he served me pork beans. When I asked what they were made of, he casually said “pork.” This is unacceptable for someone with an allergy could have ended up in the hospital.
Second, while I was on the phone with my wife, he told me to “keep it down” and “get a Bluetooth.” The restaurant was basically empty at the time, so this was unnecessary and disrespectful. When I asked him what he meant, he ignored me and walked away.
I’ve been to this location many times before and never experienced this kind of treatment. Staff should know how to talk to customers respectfully and get orders right. I’ll be taking my...
