A delightful find. My dining partner and I found this little restaurant while out motorcycling, and knew we had to check it out as her home province is Nova Scotia. It did not disappoint! There is ample street parking in front of the place, or across the street if no spots immediately in front. The restaurant was clean and had a cozy feel, seating probably around 30 people. We started with the Chris Brothers fried pepperoni, a home town favorite for her, served with honey mustard. I had a Moosehead, which was a nice Atlantic Canada touch. Neither of us was that hungry after a large portion of fried sausage, so we split a 2 piece haddock and chips. It arrived conveniently separated onto 2 plates for us, even with 2 portions of coleslaw! The fish was lovely, crispy batter and firm but not overdone fish. Highly recommend, we will return.

It was our 18th wedding anniversary. We had to be in Edmonton for specialist appointment early on Monday so we came down the night before to celebrate. My husband did the research, found The Atlantic Kitchen and since we are from New Brunswick, we thought we would give it a try. I got the battered halibut. Perfection. My husband had the fishcakes, he hadn't had fishcakes since his mother passed away. We took a beautiful piece of chocolate cake back to our hotel. Elena was so patient, kind and attentive. The little gift shop was lovely and we had to buy a couple of hats. We will be back! The ambience was very much EASY COAST!

Shared the land and sea platter, had the blueberry cheesecake and the lemon meringue pie! Food was decent although I wasn’t sure what spring rolls were doing on the platter - the rest of the food (breaded boneless dry ribs, calamari, onion rings, breaded shrimp, etc.) seemed to fit well on the plate but the spring rolls did not, nor did they benefit the plate as I felt they brought down the quality and flavour of the platter. Service was good albeit a little slow, even considering the dinner rush. Atmosphere was great, conversational, and offered lots of little “Newfie” details.

I really want to love this place, but after eating here twice, I'm losing hope. The first time I had the turkey dinner and it tasted like fridge-you know, that sort of stale fridge taste that comes from possibly being in the fridge too long without being properly covered. It didn't make me sick, but it didn't taste great.

The next time there I tried the fish (cod) and chips. The fish and batter was nothing memorable, but the fries were-and not in a good way. I appreciate that they were fresh-cut, but when they're put in the deep fryer, they need to be separated so they cook evenly, not thrown in in a big clump so that many of them stick together and end up raw and cold.

The side of coleslaw was also, blah.

I got a side order of gravy and it really was not good. It tasted like beef bullion cubes and corn starch. A very sad attempt indeed.

Oddly, I loved the tarter sauce, and I usually hate that stuff.

A couple annoyances... They're closed on Sundays, yet a lot of their menu items are geared towards a Sunday dinner. And their website does nothing but crash on my Apple devices.

I'll give these guys one more chance (possibly when they open their new location in St. Albert) because, like I sId, I really want to...

I have gotten food from here quite a few times and it has always been fantastic, although today I decided to go in to order for take out and was met with unbelievably rude service. At first the lady who helped me was very kind, I ordered my food and paid but once she saw there was no tip her attitude towards me took a 180. Suddenly there was no smile, a rude and direct tone of voice, and no manners whatsoever. I waited about 10 minutes for my food and when it was brought over to me it was literally tossed onto the table next to me and the waitress just scoffed and walked away. No thank you, no have a good day, nothing, just pissed that I didn’t tip. I have worked as a waitress for many years and it should not be expected for a person who is coming in for take out to tip. I was absolutely thrown back by this and it has made me not ever want to come back and order in person again. If I ever do order again I will be calling ahead so I’m not met again with such disrespect and...
