House of Hong Restaurant — Restaurant in Fort Saskatchewan

My husband and I had a long drive home and were craving Chinese food. We called HOH and our order was to be picked up at 7, which was perfect because we were about an hour away from home. Being new to the Fort, we’re still getting used to the restaurants in town, this is one we will not be going back to. We may as well have thrown $70 in the trash. The chicken fried rice had pieces of “chicken” in it, but it looked and tasted like rubbery pieces of fish. The chow mein tasted burnt and the shrimp inside were also rubbery and tasteless. We also ordered sweet n sour chicken balls, which you expect to be the deep fried balls but it came as sweet n sour pork. And the beef in the beef n broccoli looked almost grey. The only edible thing we actually felt comfortable eating, was the green onion cake. AVOID THIS RESTAURANT !!! Not sure how this is getting even a 3.8 rating (Seems fishy). The best AVERAGE this could get is a 2.

Disappointing in all aspects. The food below par, the selection was limited for a buffet and to pay $10 , not worth it. To count all items in the buffet - 1 item of each variety, a total of 9 items, 1 dry rib, 1 rib with sauce, 1 noodle, 1 veggie, 1 soup, 1 chicken, 1 battered shrimp. , 1 veggie, 1 chop suey, thats it !!!. Desert was non existent (a few chocolate waffers) , What a waste..... The Vietnamese place would surely be better (Did not eat) but just peeked in.

Better still go to the is in the stip mall on Rt 21 is Wokbox...its a chain but with a lot more options and delicious food. I eat at a lot of places and Fort Saskatchewan may not be with a lot of options and good restaurants and even by local comparitive standards I was very disappointed. I less place to think for...

I had placed an order 2 days ago for delivery through house of hong. I had ordered a combo which should of contained chicken fried rice, chop suey and chicken balls but when the order was delivered it had dry ribs and shrimp instead! I had called and explained to the manager that I had wanted chicken balls as I'm allergic to seafood, her response was that it was food and could not be returned even though I just wanted it replaced. She had cut me off multiple times and still refused to replace my order. Had their website been mobile friendly this would not be an issue. She was rude and had hung up on me after I asked if that was how they conducted business. I will not be ordering from here again and would not recommend this place to anyone.
