Lilly's Landing Family Restaurant — Restaurant in Gander

We were looking forward to our first visit as we had heard good reviews. While the service was good and the food arrived quickly, the quality was of mixed result.

We ordered the appetizer basket, which listed onion rings, mozzarella sticks, wings and chicken fingers for $13.95. What arrived was a little disappointing. There were two small mozzarella sticks and 4 tiny wings. There were lots of onion rings, but they were undercooked. Most disappointing of all were the chicken 'fingers' which turned out to be two small chicken nuggets. All of this was piled on a handful of fries and everything was barely warm. Our entrees were a little better. The liver and onions, mashed potatoes and gravy were quite good, but the dressing was dry as a bone and cold. The carrots were overcooked and barely warm. The pork chops were quite thin and overcooked to the point of being very dry.

I regret i can only give it 5 stars. This is not a luxurious place, it is an old establishment with few frills except some nice pictures. BUT it has won awards for the quality of its food. The server was kind and patient, well dressed, the food was beyond delicious, the portion on the plate was really kind, especially when you are hungry. The time from when we ordered to when we received the meal was so short i don't know how they could have done it so fast. The most disgusting meal ever, order pork chops with chef salad, the lettuce was yellow, no meat or chesse in Salade. Onions was supposed come with the pork chop, apparently the cook forgot, the pork chop was undercooked. Order of fries and chips, chicken was dried up fries was greasy, think they reheated ones that was taken back to kitchen from someone else's wrong order. The phone was ringing the waitress was just picking up the phone and hanging it back down without speaking to the customers. Sign says open until 7, they were turning customers away at 530, only 2 tables was full. The worst restaurant...
