Heritage Pizza — Restaurant in Gatineau

If I could write a review with a zero star rating I would. Called at 5:50PM on a Saturday. Going in to a busy time for sure so when they told be 30-45 minutes (the pizza standard) I was more than ready to wait an hour. When I called after an hour and fifteen minutes the guy who answered offered no apologies, just told me the pizza guy was around the corner. When I called again after an hour and a half he again said it was almost here and had no kind words or apologies. SO at this time though I was starving I canceled the order. I advised him that I gladly would have waited if he had communicated with me that things were going to be long. The restaurant is 4km from my home... not far. So another ten minutes go by and the order arrives at the door. I think to myself "What a good save from the boss over there, they are going to drop the food off anyhow with an apology." No such luck, the lack of communication put the driver in an awkward spot as well. When he told me how much it would be I told him I had already cancelled and he had no idea. What a customer service fail!! I will never be calling this...

Heritage is BY FAR my absolute favorite place for hard serve ice cream in Aylmer! They serve Kawartha Dairy ice cream, a 100% Canadian and family owned company (who wouldn't love that?). So creamy and sooo flavourful! You get to chose between a regular cone or a sugary waffle cone. You're not feeling like ice cream? They have you covered, serving also sorbet and frozen yogurt (made fresh everytime with your choice of frozen fruits)! The prices are very reasonable, so no need to break the bank! The cherry on top you ask? Most certainly the customer service! This family is always happy to serve you your favourite frozen treat! The ambiance is perfect ; their patio is situated directly on the rue Principale in Old Aylmer. This is THE place to grab an ice cream cone! 10/10 would...

We have been ordering pizza from Heritage and we often go to the charming family-oriented ice cream shop in the summer months! We have found that the "family owned and operated" business is quite apparent in the quality and individualized service we receive. Its lovely to find a family owned small local business to support. Of course, tehri business model is not what we, the customers, are particularly interested in, we are far more interested in what the product is! The pizza and ice cream is absolutely delicious and you really can taste the small family business care put into the work!
