This is our go to spot when we feel like really good authentic ethnic food and service.
We have tried almost all of the appetizers and they are all excellent.
The empanadas and tamales are delicious and it is confirmed by the smiles one has with each and every bite.
The lamb stew is very tender and the few pieces of Cassava are delicious. The Beans are a nice way to change things up. We tried this dish with french fries (the website shows that it is now served with rice which is a much better addition).
The Quinoa Salad is very refreshing and succulently prepared with all the different layers of fresh and crispy ingredients.
The Fish Risotto is quite tasty as the squid is very supple and tender with every bite.
Our favourite way to try food here is family style because the portions are quite large that there is enough for sharing (especially the Risotto, the Quinoa salad and the Jalea de Pescado y Maroscos - a medley of battered fish with two different portion sizes).
We have since tried several of their fish dishes and this, in our opinion, is where this restaurant really shines.
There was no room for dessert but we did enjoy the purple corn ice tea.
There are two seating areas. I prefer the larger one to the right upon entering. The one on the left was ok but you could hear the music for the restaurant guests and another genre coming from the kitchen. I did like the patio and it could easily accommodate a group by simply pushing the tables together.
We look forward to coming in and trying their buffet as it looks very appetizing and a great way to try many of their delectable dishes.
I have noticed on their website that they now also...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Amazonas and I have to say, it was a wonderful experience. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted warmly by the friendly staff and seated promptly at my table.
The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, with beautiful decor and soft lighting that created a warm and welcoming ambiance. The menu offered a wide variety of delicious dishes, with something for everyone, and the presentation of the food was absolutely stunning.
I decided to start with the ceviche, which was incredibly fresh and bursting with flavor. For my main course, I chose the stired lomo with onions and tomatoes, which was cooked to perfection and seasoned just right. The sides were equally delicious, with a flavorful quinoa salad.
But what really set Amazonas apart for me was the service. Our waiter was attentive and knowledgeable, offering great recommendations and ensuring that our dining experience was seamless from start to finish.
Overall, I would highly recommend Amazonas to anyone looking for a fantastic dining experience. The food, atmosphere, and service were all top-notch, and I can't wait to go back and try more of their...
Read moreUpdate: we love to support local and family businesses and have been here several times. Our last experience was disappointing on the service level. The server was very dismissive, no greeting and not friendly at all. An error was made with our order and instead of apologies or compensation, she just took the plate back and brought it with some pieces added and at the end she didn’t acknowledge anything and left us with the payment machine. We came in a good mood and left with a bad one. We are trying to give some constructive feedback. Businesses need to understand that basic training for their staff about how to welcome clients and deal with different situations is essential. It’s great that they still have good quality food but they shouldn’t forget the service which is half of why people eat out.
It was our first time trying Pruvian food and definitely worth the half-hour drive. The food was delicious and very fresh. The service was fast. We would like to go back and try other meals. Everything seemed very authentic...
