McDonald's — Restaurant in Gatineau

Something really needs to be done about this McDonald's location. I've been a customer here for years and I have a crew that gets coffee and lunch on a weekly basis. I also like to get the occasional late night burger myself.

This location just sucks. Where to even begin? I think the biggest problem is poor attention to detail. I'm currently on my fourth visit in a row with major errors in my order. Luckily I caught it this time, but it is incredibly frustrating when you're in a hurry, go through the drive thru, and get back to work to realize you're missing 2 sandwiches. It's not just me either; everybody knows how bad this McDonald's is at getting your order right. Look at all these reviews too... it's pretty much the top complaint.

Another huge problem is being closed when they are supposed to be open. It's advertised as 24 hours. Understandably, they will operate drive thru only overnight, but a couple times I drove out there after hours they were completely closed down. They pulled this on Canada day too... I suppose if it was the only time I could forgive them given the circumstances, but it's happened multiple times. It's a problem that I've also heard from other people and see frequently in the reviews here. It takes time and fuel to drive here for nothing, so it's pretty frustrating when it happens. This is something that should NOT be happening outside of extraordinary circumstances.

In terms of the food and service, I have had lots of problems with missing or wrong ingredients, cold fries (very often), underfilled fries, common items not available, flat pop, condiment station a mess or missing items, there is NEVER printer paper in the self serve terminal, dirty restaurant. All these things add up to make this a bottom tier McDonald's.

I'd like to say management needs to read this and step in to fix things, but the problem is worse than that. They know. They've known for years how badly this place is run. Everybody's complaining, and everybody has been complaining for a long time. The problem is, they don't care. This is the only McDonald's serving Aylmer, and the only fast food drive thru in the area. We the customers don't have a choice, and so they know they can get away with sticking it to us. Sadly, it works because we keep coming back and giving them more money.

I am choosing to vote with my wallet. I won't be coming back from now on. Sure, my business is a drop in the bucket for these guys, but I hope others will start catching on and following suit. Frankly, the way this place is run is insulting and the owner should be ashamed of...

I have been to McDonald’s in many places, different countries, cities, settings… but NONE compare to how awful, rundown, trainwreck and miserable this McDonalds’s location is. And I have to live close by walking distance since I moved here! I gave them SO many opportunities to make up for the awful experiences but no, every time is even worse than the last one. I don’t even like McDonald’s and only go with my girlfriend but I’d rather drive 20 minutes out to a better McDonald’s than get back here. I give UP. And this is probably the first time ever I leave such a negative review anywhere on the internet but it is mesmerizing the awfulness of this place. Let’s start with service: the waiters and the cashiers are always extremely RUDE. First off they’re just mean for no reason, at any time of the day, any time of the year no matter who’s there; now might they be stressed and all, but there is no reason such un-polite people should be working in a service business. Second my spoken French is not perfect but even with my girlfriend who’s fully francophone but from a different province they pretend they don’t understand ANYTHING while they clearly do as they eventually “come to understand” (note: I am very very kind and understanding about language barriers, but when it’s so evident they understand it’s actually hurtful). Third not only they mess up the orders ALL THE TIME, but they even make you feel bad for it and argue about it like NO it is not MY fault for wasting YOUR time for making you change my messed up order! It would not even be half as bad if they fixed it right away and apologized but EVEN WHEN THEY FIX THE ORDER IT’S STILL HORRIBLE FOOD. I can’t even remember the amount of missing ingredients from Burgers or just horrible quality. And the Ice Creams are always just not mixed, they don’t even try using the ice cream machine (probably because they don’t want to clean it). I put the best item on the menu is the ketchup because you get it yourself so nobody can mess it up. Plus there is no fountain drinks so it really sucks. Thank you for making me go back on my 3+ years no McDonald’s!

Edit: the self serve machines are forever out of printing receipts, and even with that there’s NEVER someone at the counter right away! I...

Spent 25 minutes in drive thru for two cars and still got a drink that the orange fruitopia was pure water. Spent another ten minutes to replace it with sprite with one car in line. I don't understand how they get away with charging 21.94$ for two big Mac combos these days. I mean this is way way over priced for what you get. Any other burger joint offers better burgers n food in every conceivable way and be the same price or even cheaper. McDonald's altogether needs to get their corporate issues figured out because by no means should people go here as we are just enabling their greediness and disregard for our hard earned money. On top of making us always go wait in the parking lot for our order when I'm ordering two sausage mcmuffins without egg during breakfast and yet are able to serve five people with bigger orders behind me before serving me. This last time I said "No, I'm not going to wait in the parking lot when it's a tiny order. The person who orders first should get their order first especially when it's such a tiny order during breakfast time". How does it time and time again result in me waiting for a tiny order in the parking lot when several people behind me order several combo items for breakfast and get served before me all the time. The worst McDonald's in Canada for Sure, I've been to dozens around the region and this one fails in every aspect. I can go on forever but reviews only have so many characters.
