📣 Buyer Beware – A Message for the Aylmer Community 📣 As a proud Aylmer resident since 2000 and a local business owner who values integrity and customer service, I feel it's time to speak out about a disappointing experience that reflects a larger issue—one that many of you may have encountered as well. For over 25 years, I’ve supported St-Hubert Aylmer, ordering at least once a month without fail. That’s more than 300 meals over two and a half decades, and likely tens of thousands of dollars spent—gladly, because I believed in supporting local. But the experience has drastically changed—and not for the better. Let’s talk facts: 🔹 In 2000, the average St-Hubert meal cost between $8–$10. 🔹 Today, in 2025, that same meal is pushing $22–$25, even higher with delivery fees and tip. That’s a 150–200% increase in price—far outpacing inflation—yet the quality has dropped significantly. The once-crispy chicken arrives soggy. Fries, cold and rubbery. Gravy containers leak. Presentation is sloppy. And this isn't a one-off—it's a pattern. My latest experience was the last straw: I scheduled a delivery for 7:30 p.m. and it arrived at 6:30 p.m. while I was unavailable. It wasn’t left at the door (I have Nest camera proof). I had to go through a national call centre just to speak with someone at the actual restaurant. The manager denied the delivery even happened. Eventually, I was promised a fresh replacement meal at the proper time. It arrived late, cold, disheveled, and frankly, inedible. I then asked for a refund and $50 compensation for the experience. Reasonable, given the time wasted and loyalty shown. But after multiple emails, voicemails, and runarounds, I finally spoke with a someone named Melissa, who refused my request and argued with me on the phone, dismissing both my complaint and my loyalty. I then proposed a $200 credit to settle this once and for all—a drop in the bucket for a company the size of St-Hubert, and entirely appropriate given the time, effort, and aggravation. Again, I was told this was “unreasonable.” Let me be clear: This is not about a chicken meal. It’s about respect for clients—especially those who’ve supported a business for 25 years. During COVID, we were all asked to support our local restaurants. We did. We kept many afloat. But some, like St-Hubert, seem to have quickly forgotten who helped keep them in business. As a business owner, I know mistakes happen. What matters is how you respond. I would never argue with a client. I’d fix it, own it, and make it right—because my reputation matters. This post isn’t about a refund. It’s about accountability. I’ll never order from St-Hubert again. And I encourage others who’ve had similar experiences to speak up. We deserve better, and local businesses need to be reminded that customer loyalty is earned—every time. #AylmerCommunity #SupportLocalEthically #StHubertAylmer #EnoughIsEnough #CustomerServiceMatters — feeling disappointed at St-Hubert.

I would just like to send a heartfelt thank you to all of the staff at the restaurant this evening (October 2nd, 2025 around 7:30 p.m.). I brought my grandmother in for a quick birthday dessert, and the entire team went above and beyond to make her feel like the most special person. Not only were the desserts presented beautifully, but the whole staff came out together to sing her a birthday song without me knowing or asking them to do it, yet it meant the world to us! From the bottom of my heart, thank you to the Saint-Hubert staff for making my grandmother’s 88th birthday a memory she will never forget!

Their shrimp special is a joke, to paraphrase Zoolander it was a meal for ants. The picture on the website did not in any way represent the miserable little portion that was provided.(Plus there was a hair in the meal's packaging). Edit.....I'm happy to say that St Hubert reached out and refunded the price of the meal. I should also have added that the chicken and ribs that I ordered were delicious as usual (free business advice - stick to what you're good at)

Talk about shrinkflation ! I ordered a chicken leg dinner with chef's salad with balsamic dressing and a beer. When the food came, the chicken was OILY... I pointed this out to the waitress... She did NOTHING ! I asked for more balsamic dressing... she brought me a 'ranch' style dressing claiming it was white balsamic (The salad already had a bit of CLEAR traditional balsamic - so, this would not do...). When I ate the chicken, there was little meat on it... the salad came in a small bowl instead of on the side of the chicken... so, evidently, I got LESS food... I paid a WHOPPING $32.++ for this BEFORE the tip (Which she did NOT deserve!). Clue: for Thanksgiving Sunday weekend... there was hardly anyone there... People are realizing they are NOT getting enough food, the service is LOUSY and the price is off the charts for what you get on your plate. I left there with not feeling I had enough to eat (reasonably). My evening was RUINED by a waitress who could not care less to go to the kitchen to underline the food was not adequate (OILY) and little on the plate. Conclusion of the story: they LOST a customer here for good! I will NOT be going back there and if I could have given this place a ZERO rating, I would have! I DO NOT recommend this place! It was a HUGE disappointment and I will NEVER go back! The LEAST I should have had from the waitress was an apology for the sub-par food... she SHOULD have gone back to the kitchen but did NOT! The place was bare... I think people are getting wise and not going back... I am certain I am not the only one! If the place goes 'under' don't ask...

I've lived in aylmer all my life and this restaurant is the best for friends, couple and families.

Dine in: super nice atmosphere both in the dining room and the bar. Very warm colors and extremely clean. The service is very good, never had any issues, and the food was always fresh and warm. Not too expensive, affordable, I would say. I highly recommend it.

Take out/ pick up: Sometimes you need to wait on the phone but never more than a few minutes. They always make the food on time when they say 10 minutes they mean it and the food is hot!

Delivery: Today, I ordered delivery (January 30th, 2025), and the phone service was different. I mean in a very good way. It was quiete and I could hear the women speaking so clearly! She was speaking perfect French, she was so lovely and attentive. I would like to say it was the best service I've had. So thank you! The food was warm the driver was nice.

All this to say 5...
