2022 Update: When the Manager is away the Hostess and Staff will treat you differently. The young Hostess and Staff are racists. My husband has a French last name and he speaks french but I am still learning. Because I asked for an English Menu they treated me with such an indifference. My husband noticed this too. The Waitress ignored us for 30 minutes and served everyone before and after us when she saw my menu was English. When I complained to the hostess the waitress immediately went and whispered something to her and then the hostess told us to leave in the middle of our meal. We had not been rude, disrespectul and had not even made a scene. Instead this same waitress gathered all the staff and whispered some lie and she even got the kitchen cook to come out and insult us. We've been dining here for over 10 years and this one waitress manipulated the hostess, other waitresses and the cook to get us kicked out of the restaurant. We've taken countless amounts of people there and raved about this place but based on this experience we recommend that people from Ontario not go to this restaurant. As the Hostess told us regulars...My boss has given me permission that we do not have to serve the people from across the river. These are the exact words we were told. The only reason we were there that day is because I had just buried my father and my husband wanted to take me out so I wouldn't have to cook. Now because of this...we will never eat at this place again. Oh and when I asked for the owners name another waitress gave me the business card berated me saying that I had insulted this waitress. I told her we did no such a thing and she didn't believe us. This place was great before covid when Julian worked there. After covid the food there isn't good anymore. I've heard others say they've now encountered the same problem with staff there.
Old Review: We really enjoyed our breakfast and with such a great variety in their breakfast menu how can anyone not enjoy it? It was Saturday morning in June and we were happy to find there wasn't a long lineup when we arrived. Once seated our waiter was right there ready and attentive. When we placed our order, we were surprised to see our food come to our table 7 minutes later and it looked and tasted spectacular. The portion was fantastic and the cost was equally fantastic. When we left, we felt content rather than ripped off as we've felt in some Ottawa breakfast establishments. Almost every breakfast comes with a bottomless coffee or tea so really, the cost for this big breakfast was more than reasonable between the $10-$14 range. Our consensus is that we thoroughly enjoyed our visit and really appreciated that they had ample "free parking" and free Wi-Fi. Not that we had much wait time to use the WiFi but it was nice to know it was offered. If you want a great breakfast at a great value with a great portion then this is the place to try out. Don't waste your time and money in Ottawa, if you want a memorable and tasty breakfast at a realistic cost then make the drive...
Read moreLa Creppa's dining experience fell short of expectations, particularly given the $85 total cost (including tip). The atmosphere was marked by an overwhelming sense of crowding and disorganization, with breakfast offerings that were only slightly above average. Upon arrival, we were directed to a table without basic settings such as placemats or condiments for the toast. The service was notably inattentive—busy staff circulated the room singing "Happy Birthday" to patrons while neglecting essential tasks like setting up the table, which we had to request explicitly.
The dining area itself was cramped, and the arrangement of tables left much to be desired, contributing to an overall chaotic environment. Additionally, the parking situation was inadequate, with insufficient space for the restaurant's capacity, further complicating the visit.
While the food quality was acceptable, it was underwhelming compared to our first experience, which had set a higher standard. Given the pricing, I expected a level of presentation and service akin to competitors such as Cora or Allô! Mon Coco.
Unfortunately, La Creppa did not meet these expectations, and as a result, I am uncertain about returning. The overall value does not justify the...
Read moreThe overall experience here was good but what stood out was the excellent service. At this time, due to covid, there is a tremendously small staff taking care of a large crowd so I would suggest to not be in a hurry to eat here right now.
I waited about 2 hours to be served and was a little disappointed in my dish the Lulu Manhattan. The crepe was very good, but the dish as a whole was very very sweet. I had expected the cheese whipped creme to taste more salty to counter the sweet carmalized pears but I suppose I should have asked beforehand.
I wanted to send the dish back, but due to the 2 hour wait, the restaurant was closing in 20 minutes and I didn't want to make the staff stay any later than they should. I ate what I could (which was not a lot due to the sweetness) and as the waitress came to retrieve my dish I spoke to her about my discontent but didn't expect anything of her. Perhaps a comment to the chef at best, but even then I didn't expect it, honestly I probably should have kept it till now.
Anyways, she was so kind and gave me the dish half off for my troubles and for the wait. I would come back to this restaurant, though make a...
