Was having dinner on new year eve and we witness the supervisor server, approach a young couple which where on there way out after dinner, ask if there was a problem when the young men said no why, she said he had only left 10% tips and the norms are 18 and more?…the young couple where in sock n very embarrassed cause she stop them right in the middle of the floor in between tables they where right beside my husband and I, we could here everything….we where embarrassed for them….we spoke to the young couple after in the hallway and start talking about the incident and as they told her “ they are young, still at the university and had a tight budget” but wanted to go out and enjoy the new year eve together? She was rude and gave them bad eyes every time they saw her afterwards in the evening, cause there was a dancing evening after dinner. What’s this a norm rules on tips….we should start doing like some other country where there’s no tip, increase the waiter/server wages and stop this tip think, it would solve lots of embarrassing and frustration from all parties…. We went for my husband’s birthday and sat on the restaurant side because we had a minor with us. I have been on the 18+ bistro side a few times and really enjoyed it; I didn’t realize that there was a world of difference between the two. The decor is nice, but lights are so bright, it really takes away from the atmosphere. The service was so slow and bad, is was almost funny. It was a slow night and the servers were basically just hanging out together in the back and we had to keep getting up to go find them to ask for help - trust me, we aren’t fussy, we waiting patiently for a long time listening to them talk before we finally caved and went to find them. Then, the plates didn’t all come out at the same time, so some of us were actually done eating by the time others got their food (waiting for eachother was no longer an option, the food was getting cold). Anyway, we made the best of the night and it was a conversation starter in our house for a while, so not all was lost! Terrible service. Extremely slow. Not very friendly. The food was awful and way overpriced…. and I haven’t stopped shitting snd puking for the last 4 hours !!!! Took us 45 mins to get our drinks even longer for food when we finally got it the service accidentally dumped a salad on the table which is fine but she just ran away instead of saying sorry or that she would replace it just took off to get a cloth.. we had to ask her for a new one. I tipped but I didn’t feel like they deserved it all. Never coming or staying here again especially if I got food poisoning if you make reservations online make sure to call them to let them know you booked I don’t think they pay close attention to reservations...
