Accessibility: Great. Easy to find, easy to enter the parking lot. Easy to park. No stairs. Wheel chair accessible washrooms.
Parking: Free and adequate spaces.
Aesthetic: The restaurant is clean and has a nice appeal to it. There’s even a large aquarium with tropical fish.
Noise: Even though the restaurant was quite busy, it was not too loud and there was not loud music playing.
Washrooms: Clean, wheelchair accessible, fully functional, fully stocked, and include a baby change station.
Staff: the servers are very friendly and polite and came around multiple times to ensure everything was to my liking. One gentleman(I couldn’t tell if he was a manager or supervisor because he was just sitting at the bar the whole time) asked me not to take pictures. This was while I was discreetly taking photos at the table where I was seated. While I understand his reluctance, this is how the world is now. Everyone has a camera in their phone and most of us want to share our experiences with the world. If a business won’t allow patrons to take photos and post reviews, then they probably don’t have what it takes to be a competitive and successful business.
Drink: I ordered a glass of the house red wine. For the price of $8 it was decent, but not outstanding. I’ll leave to the sommeliers to review that fully.
Food: I ordered the beef pad thai for $19. It was a sufficient portion to be enough for an entire meal. It was good but not great. The ingredients were all of decent quality, but the meat tasted and felt overcooked. I was not asked if I wanted anything customized, but in hindsight, I should have asked if they could make it extra spicy. I am a white male so it is very possible that they assumed I am unable to tolerate spicy food so they didn’t ask. I say this because they provided me with a fork and knife. I had to make a special request...
Read moreThe food was ok. We ordered the Tom Young Koon, Tom Kai Gai soups, red curried chicken, and ginger beef along with the jasmine rice. The soups tasted alright, but they were missing the cilantro and/or basil leaves. That missing didn't bring the soups to their full potential. The red-curried chicken had more coconut milk and a bit more curry than it should do. The ginger beef was acceptable, but it has so many onions than expected. Perhaps, the onions were used in place of the needed sweet peppers of different colors. Anyhow, the foods were passable to me. The serving staffs were friendly. We met thee of them - one young white (also serving the drinking counter), one Middle Eastern looking with dark eye-brown, and one Asian. They were all friendly and polite. However, I would give many extra points for the Middle Eastern looking waitress. I greatly appreciated the way she has cleaned the table when we requested to change our seating. She has cleaned the table first with cleaning liquid, and then she wiped it off with the napkin paper to make sure it was clean for us. That was different from the others and we got a great impression of orderly and tidy attitude from seeing her cleaning. I would give this restaurant 5 stars for the professional serving staffs, but the foods from our order have dragged it down. Overall, it has a great potential if the chef(s) and/or the owner(s) are doing better with the Thai food ingredients. Thank you. ...
Read moreThis place is in a strip mall, but don't let that scare you. The Thai/Asian food menu is good. I am only giving 3 stars for two reasons. The first is that the gyoza appetizers, which are deep fried instead of fried, are really small. The sauce for them is wonderful. But for $5.50 for 5 small gyozas with a minimum of filling is too much and too expensive for what you get. Again, the taste is delicious. The second reason for the three stars only, is all of the vegetable dishes are extremely padded with a lot of carrots. Too much. I realize that carrots are the cheapest of the vegetables, but the amount of carrots that I got in a chicken dish was ridiculous. There could have been more chicken too for the $22 price. However it tasted good. The cooking is superb. It's just that they try to skimp on the expensive ingredients. The service is fantastic. The selection is good. The taste is delicious. It's a strip mall restaurant, but once you get inside you don't notice. They have a nice bar where you can watch sports if you are sitting at the bar. This place has the potential to be a very good Asian restaurant, because they know their flavours. They just have to improve...
