A friend of mine was heading to Goderich & I was told about the cream puffs, so I placed an online order the night before they went & I'm SO GLAD I did since my friend missed out; the lady before him in line bought the last box of cream puffs!! I got my order though (I did offer to share but he declined)so I had lots.

I will tell you that nothing I got disappointed! The cream in the puffs & cruffinpuffs is so light & tasty, not sugary or too sweet but oh so delicious!

I also got the assorted shortbread and will say my favorite was all of them but my top 2 were the coconut & cherry & am definitely getting some more of them, they didn't even make it to the freezer, I ate them all. Haha

I also ordered more than 2 people could eat in a week so I took a chance and froze some, took them out today, thawed them & it was the same deliciousness I had before freezing them! Don't be afraid to order more, I just put the box in a plastic bag & right into the freezer.

I will also say my other favorite treat but the raspberry coconut buttertarts. I honestly never would have thought the two would be a perfect taste March, when I ordered them, I didn't know it was a butter tart so it was the most pleasant mistake ever & most definitely on my list to order more, they also freeze very well!!

Can't wait til my friend goes back but my suggestion is to place your order online the day before or you may be disappointed when you get there if they are sold out. The ease of navigating the site and paying...

I’ve been coming to this bakery for thirty years, I live over 2 hours away. Used to be able to call in the morning and put items on hold….now they won’t even answer the phone. Now knowing that I placed an order online for the next day (Tuesday) so I wouldn’t be SOL. after being sent a confirmation I arrived to the store only for it to be closed. Sign pasted to the outside of the door saying now only open Fridays 8:30-3pm. This is the second time in 4 months this has happened. On my way home from up north,(Thursdays afternoon) something told me to stop….. THEY WHERE OPEN! Nothing left by the time I got there. Staff oblivious! Not Happy! I planned my trip on the way down around their hours. The new owners are running this landmark into the ground, it really is a shame since these are the very best donuts around. I hope they quickly higher somebody competent and get this location back on its feet again. Nobody sane from a small town wants to drive to...

Culberts has been a staple in our family for over 60 years. I really would have loved to give the current ownership a more positive review but unfortunately there’s been a lot of change. The size of the donuts have decreased maybe 25-30% and the icing which in the past was ample and often flaky is now a water downed thin glaze. Think of them close to a timbit on steroids. The bigger difference is the hamburger buns. They were consistently awesome; not too large and somewhat thinner than grocery store ones. Now they look like the size of a biscuit or small dinner roll and they must be cutting the dough with a ring because they have the shape of a biscuit. So I’m sad now because I won’t even bother anymore and go to Walmart to buy hamburger buns. I get the challenges of small business owners (I am one) but the business you purchased had historical customer base and appreciated the quality and consistency of...

We did a day trip today from Hamilton to Bayfield and Goderich. Someone in the Bayfield area recommended this bakery. They said if we were visiting the area it was a must! We decided to make this place our first stop. Due to the pandemic there was quite a wait outside. That have us sometime to peruse the menu in the window and speak to the customers in line about their recommendations. Sadly the cream puffs they seem to be famous for were all out so I decided on purchasing some other goodies they say are all homemade. I felt the squares were quite tiny for the price paid and I didn't feel that the tarts were as flavourful as expected. Just my opinion of course. My friend decided to have a cheat from her daily food routine so I purchased her a date square. She found it too moist and thought the square was quite average. Maybe it was hyped up too much.

After dinner across the street, we stopped by this little bakery in Goderich. They were just about to close, so the selection was a bit limited, but we still managed to grab a mix of treats — cookies, lemon bars, and a few other goodies. Prices were very reasonable. Back at the hotel, we tried everything and honestly, every single item was delicious. The cookies were especially good — we picked several kinds, and my son loved them so much he wanted to go back the next day just to buy a whole box. It’s a small, charming bakery (looked like it’s run by one lady when we visited), and it’s definitely worth a stop if you’re in town. Great taste and a lovely local find!
