I honestly wish I could rate this place a 10 out of 5. After having a wonderful walk along Goderich Main Beach, we drove up to the Town Main Center Circle to check out any cute stores and grab lunch from a local restaurant. We ended up selecting Steve and Mary's and we were 1000% pleased with our experience. We were greeted with enthusiasm and in a much welcoming manner. The team got us seated immediately at one of their outside patio style tables as regulations are still in place. It was a such a beautiful day that it was right place to enjoy our meal. We were brought menus that were larger than life 😁 and we liked them. The kids were brought kids menus of matching size but made for coloring with their individually packaged crayons. Anytime a restaurant makes an effort to provide activities or entertainment for the kids, it's excellent! The kids went to town coloring their pictures. Kids also should get excited for when inside seating is allowed because you'll get to see the train hanging in the ceiling go!!!! Our server Courtney was super pleasant and efficient. Each member of the team from the Owner Mary with her professional yet exceptionally electric energy to Courtney with her kind hearted ready to excel in her new field attitude took time to check on us throughout our time there. It is important for any restaurant to be great, for the members of staff to actually function as a team and ensure provision of consistent care and attention to each table. We felt like we mattered. It was much more than just "what can I get for you", and "here's the bill". I watched Mary greet locals by name and introduce them to new staff. They offered samples of refreshing unique drinks. They proudly mentioned to guest that the beautiful mural that graced the wall of an adjacent building which was visible to customers enjoying patio seating was done by one of their very owner talented team members (*I'm hoping that the young lady's name can please be posted in response below if possible). They didn't miss a beat engaging in delightful conversations while proficiently servicing each table (whether it was delivering food, bringing condiments, noticing when refills were needed and completing food quality satisfaction checks). Everything was delicious and was delivered in great timing! The food was served hot and the presentation was good. Compliments to the chef and entire Heart of the House team. We were also excited that the poutine came with vegan friendly gravy, the Harbour Fish came between two slices of SOFT made FRESH daily Focaccia bread, the fries where thick and were served hot, and the root beer was good. The surrounding areas were also clean and the tables were also (which anyone in restaurant field knows cleaning between spaces and crevices of table tops is an ongoing task). Additionally, the restroom facilities were clean. I would sincerely and enthusiastically encourage anyone visiting Goderich to experience family friendly excellence at Steve and Mary's. We hope that they continue to prosper and we look forward to going there again. Until next time, stay awesome Steve...

We went to have breakfast for 2 adults on a Saturday morning. The ambiance was cool, there was a train at the ceiling running on the tracks and it was an open concept restaurant with stools at the counter.

Server was friendly and pleasant and got our orders in quickly. We ordered coffees, stuffed French toast with hash brown and the special of prime rib and Pico de gallo omelet with hash brown as well.

The portions were fair, not too big and small. The food was average. My partner thought there was no Pico de gallo in the omelet or if there was, it was very little. The French toast was okay, but slightly disappointed as I expected to be more stuffed than what it actually was, with just one slice of meat and slice of cheddar. The hash brown with the onions were the best part of the meal.

The coffee tasted terrible and had an old taste mixed that we can't quite explain. Overall it was average, price point was slightly high for the food. The atmosphere was cool though and seems like a...

This place seems to be a heart of the community! When we first entered, their was a large group talking in the middle of the place, and the cashier was cashing someone else out. We got to admire the entrance before we were seated and given lots of time to look over the menu. After we had ordered, we had coffee while w waited for our sandwich’s to be done. With this place being a heart of the community, it comes with lots of people. There were some times were I felt it was a bit loud between other’s conversations and the train they have driving on loop on the ceiling. Our sandwich’s were amazing! The Philly cheese steak was served on a white sub bun, and the turkey clubhouse was served on toasted whole wheat. Personally I didn’t care for the French fries, they tasted of a too much oil and didn’t have any crispy beds to them. The seasoning the fries were covered in tasted like too many things were trying to be the main flavour, and was too salty for my...
