The seating in the back by the fire place was really nice and private. The beer was cold and there was a nice selection to choose from. The nachos didn't have enough vegetables nor did they have any onion. When we asked the waitress about this, she just said we don't keep onions in house. I found that strange but ok. We paid 10 bucks to add chicken to the nachos and got 2 dollars worth of plain non seasoned chicken chuncks. With dry cheese to top it off, they were not good. I wouldn't order them again. Sorry I didn't get a picture.
The Korean cauliflower bites were disgusting and had no Korean flavours to it or really any good flavor at all. It just tested like stale batter bites. They definitely didn't taste it before it left the kitchen.
The burger was decent I'm happy it was half price though. I'd have a hard time paying 24 bucks for it regularly ex Bc I had to pay to add onions to the burger. The best part about his while meal were my French fries. There were delicious salted crispy homemade twice cooked kanebic french fries.
The beef dip was good we added sauteed mushrooms to it..again they wouldn't fry any onions for it because of their no onion policy.. came with a generic...
Read moreWe had good food, but unfortunately the server didnt seem to care much that I told her I cannot eat anything with egg in it. She wrote it on the list, and asked for a sub of mayo for tzatziki on my club sandwich. I received a bone dry club sandwich. She saw that it was, and said huh thats weird I wrote tzatziki, and she went and got me a container of it.
I added this to my sandwich, and carried on.
Well, she very likely did not confirm with kitchen that the tzatziki was not added to the sandwich because it very likely contained mayo, which is probably why I am now in pain a couple days later, and will continue to be for the next 2 weeks. Also.. who makes tzatziki with mayo????? It looked a but glossy but it had a bunch of other seasonings in it, and she didnt seem too excited to be there that night (she was walking with a bit of a limp poor girl) so I didnt bother her to CHECK AGAIN.. I should have persisted because now I am paying the price for it.
Anyway if you have food allergies, this may not be the place for you as they aren't very careful.
But my husband completely...
Read moreRockwater Grill is in a great location right in downtown Golden. It looks small when you pull up, but once you go inside it really opens up to a decent sized bar and seating area with a patio outside overlooking the Kicking Horse River. It was a nice spring evening with temps in the low 70s so we sat outside.
Our server was really nice and attentive who told us about the list of beers on tap that was on the board inside and which ones were brewed locally. I got the sloppy joeloppy with a side caesar salad. I was a bit disappointed in the sandwich since the beef was mixed so heavily with the banana peppers, leeks, and onions, that there was barely any beef in it. Seemed like they were trying a bit too hard to elevate a classic.
My mom had the fish and chips and said how good the fish was. The fries were great and we were all fighting over them lol.
Based on the sloppy joe and that prices are on the higher side, this equates to a 3...
