Red Tomato Pies — Restaurant in Golden

This is our second time to visit this pizza store. The first time we came to the store was on a trip coming back from Vancouver to Calgary. We stopped by and got some pizza. The pizza was great. So we remembered this store. Last long weekend, the Canada Day long weekend, we came to the Golden Skybridge. We came to the Red Tomato Pies to get some pizza after spending a few hours in the Skybridge. This time, what can I say, the quality of the pizza and services was disappointing. We order a half chicken-bacon and half steak-cheese. When we came back to pick up the pizza, they messed up with our order. The half steak-cheese became ALL CHEESE. The owner apologized for the mistake and refund us the difference between the half all-cheese and the steak-cheese. To be honest, this is not the right way to do the business. In the pizza store we make orders all the time, they DID NOT CHARGE anything if they made the wrong order. That store is in Calgary, and they made the best quality pizza I ever ate. When we ate the pizza in the car, we found that the all-cheese was cold and surface of the cheese was not as soft as the cheese as chicken-bacon. I guess they just served us with some left over. The half of all-cheese was not as fresh as the chicken-bacon. COME ON. This is absolutely not acceptable. The two half pizzas were not the same size. A horrible experience to this pizza store. Ordered from here twice now. First time they left off a topping, no big deal, I moved on, nobody heard about it. Tonight I ordered a pizza well before I was done work, so I could quickly grab it and get home for my playoff football game. As soon as I told them which order I was there to grab, they informed me they'd made a mistake, they put feta on instead of cheddar. Instead of remaking the pizza before I got there, they tried to sell it to me. After the third time me telling them, I'm not a big fan of feta, and there's no way I'm paying $43 for a pizza that I'm not going to enjoy they agreed to remake the pizza and told me it'd be 10 mins. I paid for my order, then sat there and watched them make pizza after pizza for almost 30 mins before I finally asked for my money back. While i was sitting there I also witnessed two other order mishaps, and when a customer asked why they weren't wearing masks, the employee/owner got mad, walk away and ignore the customer. We were staying the night in Golden on our way from Vancouver Island to Edmonton. Lots of great options for dinner in this town but when Red Tomato Pies come up on our web search, we thought "why not?" We haven't had takeout pizza for a while. What a great decision! Simply put, this was the best pizza we've had in decades!!! Including the years we lived in Vancouver, including the pizzas I make myself (which are pretty darn good!). The first indication of the pizza quality was the sheer weight if the box, it was much heavier than what we're used to with other takeout pizza. And then when we sat down and opened the box: wow! The pieces were thick! And not just all crust, either, it was loaded with fresh, delicious ingredients. We ordered the "Maui Wowie" which was an amazing blend of meats and cheese and pineapple.
