Nagomi Sushi — Restaurant in Golden

The food here is amazing! Were were travelling back from Kelowna when our rotors were so warped that we had to find a shop quick. We were scared of what might happen if we didn't! Being a Friday afternoon, and not knowing what it would take to get our 15 pass van up and running smoothly for our trip back to Edmonton, we knew we could be stuck in beautiful Golden longer than planned. But what happened blew our minds!

We stopped at Alpine Auto, the only place that was willing to look at our vehicle. I had my wife, 1 yr old, and 3 yr old with me so I was feeling stuck. But the guys at the shop offered to fix it. They only charged me one our labor and the cost of materials! They said it would only take an hour and a half. so we walked, delighted, along the river into town to Nagomi Sushi, where we got supper, dynamite rolls, Salmon rolls, and there beef bowl. It was all so delicious that we went back to pick up more for the road. It was good portions, totally fresh, full of flavor and excellent quality. Better than any I have ever had, and I have had a lot!

So our nightmare trip turned into the best stop of the trip. We drove straight home after that! ...

Wow, just amazing, food, service & prices! My wife and I are in golden on our 1 year anniversary, some friends in Edmonton, where we’re from, highly recommended we try Nagomi Sushi, and we are so glad we did. For a small town to offer sushi that rivals that of the big city was a real treat. We had the great pleasure of being served by one of the owners, we discovered it’s a family run & operated business so you know you’re getting the best food and service possible. Oh and her husband made the food for us, He came up to say hello when we were chatting with his wife. The owners were so kind to us, even writing “happy anniversary” on one of our food containers.

This restaurant is awesome. Great and authentic Japanese food, staff are courteous and friendly, and the place is cozy and clean.

Their rice is cooked well, unlike a lot of fake sushi places in Calgary or Vancouver. Unfortunately many sushi restaurants in these cities are owned by Koreans or Chinese and they don't know what they are doing. Nagomi is different. The owner is from Osaka Japan and he's passionate about all things foodie. (I lived in Japan for 10+ years so I know a few things about Japanese food.)

Besides sushi (like maki rolls or sashimi), I highly recommend kimchee-don and udon.
